We recap the Peacock series Bel-Air Season 2 Episode 2, which contains spoilers.

Bel-Air Season 2 picked up where season one left off, with Will (Jabari Banks) and Phil (Adrian Holmes) still being at odds, Hilary (Coco Jones) setting up the creator’s house, and Vivian’s boss giving her a bad look. Episode 2 should have some drama unfold. Let’s dive in.

Bel-Air Season 2 Episode 2 Recap

The episode begins with Will struggling on the court while Doc watches. He wants the ball with the game on the line, and instead, his coach wants him to pass the ball, and doing so costs them the game. Post-game, he approaches Doc but tells him that big schools are looking for winners, and they didn’t win. At home, after the game, Phil heads in to talk to Will about the game. Finally, Phil tells him that he needs to be careful with his attitude and who he gives his time to.

We see Hilary trying to butter up Jazz to let her borrow his impala for the video they are filming for the house coming out. He reluctantly agrees to let her use it. Next, we see Lisa talking to Carlton about the Founders Award, but he says he isn’t going to waste his time only to lose. Finally, after a little convincing, he considers the idea of it.

At basketball practice, Will tries to pep talk to the team about what happened during the game. However, it doesn’t go as planned because Kirk steps up and says that “they aren’t his homies” and that he needs to get in line. Then, we see Ms. Hughes getting fired after some kids complained about her bias toward Ashley.

Carlton wants off his medication, and Phil and Vivian sit with his doctor to discuss the possibility of it happening. The doctor says they must trust Carlton and help him wane off the medication to avoid doing it himself. At the video shoot, Hilary is driving Jazz’s car, but Ivy wants to drive in the video. Even after arguing, Hilary lets her. Moments later, Jazz shows up and is not thrilled to see it unfold. Sadly, one thing leads to another, and the two argue about the state of their relationship.

Why was Ms. Hughes fired from the school?

Vivian calls for a meeting with the parental committee over Ms. Hughes’s firing. We hear some people weigh in for the good of Ms. Hughes and the bad as she wasn’t following the “school curriculum.” It gets a little heated, leading to the lady in charge stating she was fired for repeating of school’s curriculum policy and there is nothing they can do about it. Vivian storms off and says we will see about that.

As Will attempts to sneak out, Carlton busts him and ends up helping him get out of the house by agreeing to take him with him. In the club, Jazz breaks down that how they act is a reflection on him, so no drinking or acting dumb. Will finds Jackie, who wants more details on Doc, but she says he will have to earn it on the dance floor. While they bump and grind on the dance floor, Doc shows up, and we discover that Doc is Jackie’s uncle.

What happens when Doc and Will meet at the party?

Doc breaks down that Will needs to start playing in AAU because that’s where the best players go to get to the best colleges and NIL deals. But, before he leaves, he tells Will, “nobody argues with a winner.” The following morning, the mood brightens when Geoffrey returns to the Banks family house to return to his old job.

Hilary texts Jazz to meet her for lunch cause she wants to apologize. After apologizing, she wants to make it up to him by introducing Jazz to her parents. Jazz is looking to find out when, and she says right now, and the doorbell rings. Phil and Vivian are both shocked when they receive the news.

The firing of Ms. Hughes has lit a fire under Carlton. He decides to speak about it at the latest Black Student Union meeting. After making his case to the entire class, President Yazmin agreed with everything he said. Will pitched in, saying they should show the school by protesting. One of the teachers chases down Carlton to say she was impressed with his passion but wants her to reel in the protest idea because it would be a reflection on him.

Bel-Air Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained

Later that night, Will takes over the game tonight and shows out to everyone. However, with only a little time left in the game, the coach wants him to pass it to Kirk. On the court, Will does the opposite of what the coach tells him to do and nails a three-pointer. Doc approaches Will after the game and is impressed. However, Phil interrupts to inform Doc that any conversations moving forward must go through him.
