Apple Original series Liaison returned with its third installment, titled “Manipulations.”
In this episode, Alison (Eva Green) and Mark (Patrick Kennedy) head to Brussels to formulate a deal with the European Commission. Gabriel (Vincent Cassel) tracks down Myriam (Lyna Dubarry) and Didier’s mistress Sabine (Laëtitia Eïdo), looking for important information from both. There’s fun to be had from Gabriel’s secret identities and some much-needed action, but it’s another lackluster affair, with unlikable characters and tedious plotting. Here’s what happened in Liaison Season 1 Episode 3:
- Dumas and Gabriel talk about Gabriel’s history with Alison. She blamed him for someone’s death and testified against him. Gabriel has Dumas check her phone.
- Albert and Alison decide to get married.
- Gabriel is sent to Brussels to retrieve Myriam and to get dirt on Didier from his mistress Sabine. He takes on another disguise and flirts with Sabine in a cafe.
- Alison and Mark head to Brussels. Sabine purposely over-complicates the deal negotiations and lies about Mr. Vandermeer’s whereabouts.
- Gabriel goes to the asylum center to get Myriam out. She is attacked by strangers. Gabriel manages to flee with her, but only after he is tasered. In a blind panic, Gabriel calls Alison for backup.
- Alison takes Gabriel and Myriam to a fancy hotel. She looks after them both in their hour of need.
- Mark meets with Bob, the man behind the cyberattacks in London. Mark doesn’t want to be a part of this shady deal anymore and quits, even though he was willingly involved in the first cyberattack.
- Richard calls Alison from London; they are under a fourth attack. This time they have taken control of the grid. Richard urges Alison to get the deal signed immediately.
- Alison plays dirty, barging into Vandermeer’s office. He has been lied to as well by Sabine. He agrees to finalize the paperwork that night.
- Sabine tells Didier the bad news and then hooks up with Gabriel.
- Albert is shown CCTV footage of Gabriel infiltrating the hospital. Gabriel didn’t kill Walid, but Alison is involved in the whole saga somehow, to Albert’s surprise.
- Alison and Vandermeer meet to finish the deal. She finds Mark dead in the toilets, hanged by two thugs to look like suicide.
Liaison Season 1 Episode 4 Release Date and Time
Episode 4 will be released on Apple TV+ on Friday, March 17th, 2023. The release time is midnight PT. Episode 4 is titled “Carnage” and will have a run time of 52 minutes.

Predictions
- It looks like Mark was killed by Bob’s goons for pulling out of their private deal. Mark threatened to go public with this agreement if attacked. That was possibly a bluff, though. Alison now realizes she is caught up in a dangerous and corrupt scheme.
- Alison will gain her deal, but the cyberattacks will only intensify further.
- Gabriel will interrogate Sabine, gaining more information on Didier. He will report back to Dumas with his news.
- Samir will be reunited with Myriam, and Gabriel will finally get the USB key unlocked.
