We had the three-episode premiere of School Spirits introduce us to this afterlife world that featured so many questions surrounding the death of Maddie. While they haven’t concluded what happened, more and more evidence begins to mount against a certain schoolteacher.
School Spirits Season 1 Episode 4 Recap
In the classroom, Maddie tries to open Mr. Anderson’s phone, but no matter how many passwords she tries, it doesn’t work. However, we see Simon move at the end of class to snatch his phone and bolt. Then, Maddie heads to her afterlife crew to find out if they have seen Mr. Anderson do anything while they wander the school. None of them are helping her out, and Maddie gets beyond annoyed.
We see Simon and Nicole walking the halls at school and discussing the boot print they found. Simon questions why she has been texting with Xavier that much, and she calls him out for ghosting her since Maddie has disappeared. Then, Simon explains that Maddie is gone and not coming back. Finally, while the grief counselor discusses his shutting down Nicole of Maddie being gone isn’t helpful. While she is talking, Mr. Anderson is doing a “find his phone” search, and the phone goes off, and Simon runs away.
Maddie is mucking it up with her afterlife friends when Simon arrives, talks to her, and she responds and leaves. The trio is somewhat confused cause they’ve never seen anyone like them be able to do such a thing. As the duo talks about him taking the phone, the trio comes and questions why she hadn’t told them that she could speak to the living.
Simon has talked to the principal about everything he has found. After school, Xavier and Nicole leave school together, but Claire stops them on the way out. Next, Maddie searched for anyone who might have seen something related to her disappearance or death. Xavier comes clean about what he did to Maddie, upsetting Nicole.
Do the cops arrest Mr. Anderson?
At first, no, but after some digging by Maddie, he was arrested. After talking to Mr. Anderson, they leave the classroom, find Simon lurking outside, grab him by the arm, and take him in for questioning. At the police station, Simon tries to break down everything he finds, but the cops are beginning to wonder if maybe Maddie just ran away.
After some searching, Maddie and the crew find some old band uniforms. Simon storms into a meeting and presents them to the teachers and Mr. Anderson. He shows the receipt proving that the company he paid was fake and mentioned that he couldn’t prove that Mr. Anderson hurt Maddie but could prove that he did this.

Who did Mr. Anderson call from his phone?
We see Maddie settle in with her afterlife friends to watch a movie when one of the girls has a phone in her hand, and Maddie asks where she got it. She told her one of the students left it behind, and she got into it because she knew everyone’s passcode. Maddie runs to Simon and tells him to get Mr. Anderson’s phone. The episode ends with them calling the last number on the phone and going to voicemail, and it is Claire.
