Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 2 Recap
Ted Lasso walks into Rebecca’s office, giving her the usual box of goodies. With Rebecca are Higgins and Keeley, who meet with Trent Crimm, the former reporter who left The Independent last year.
Crimm has approached Rebecca about wanting to follow AFC Richmond for a season and write a book. Rebecca says it’s a splendid idea, but it’s up to Ted. All three shake their heads and mouth the word no, but Ted tells him it sounds like a great idea.
Who is Zava?
Zava, per Trent Crimm, tells Ted that Zava is a world-class striker about to leave his team in Italy. Per Higgins, Zava wants to play in the Premier League because his wife binged The Office.
Ted corrects Higgins, saying he must want to play in Scranton, Pennsylvania; however, when Rebecca corrects him that he meant the British version, Ted comments on how England did a “pre-make” over here.
Keeley is not keen on the idea since Zava goes through teams like Rebecca goes through manicurists. (Higgins notes that he has been on 14 teams in 15 years). Rebecca agrees but changes her toon when she hears West Ham also wants in. Crimm breaks down to Rebecca, who admits it, but the former reporter says he loves it.
Did Keeley dump Roy?
No, Roy admits in front of the team that he broke up with Keeley. When Ted hears Roy and Keeley break up, he faints, and Coach Beard catches him.
Of course, Beard lets out a girlish scream when he hears. The whole team is shocked. Even Jamie attempts to comfort him, which results in swearing and them pushing each other. However, when Ted asks Roy if he wants to talk about it, he asks Will to go to his home and grab the CD labeled “Ted’s Break-up Mix” out of his desk, and will say he understands. Then asks, “What’s a CD?” At that point, Crimm walks in with Higgins, and Roy tells everyone not to say a word to him.

Why does Roy hate Crimm?
Crimm wrote, “Newcomer Roy Kent is an overhyped, so-called prodigy whose unbridled rage and mediocre talent rendered his Premier League debut a profound disappointment.” The former reporter wrote this when Roy was only 17 years old and tells Crimm that it wrecked him.
Crimm admits he was trying to be edgy and make a name for himself. Also, all he saw was the worst in people, and he apologized. Roy accepts and tells the team he can now talk in front of him.
Ted Lasso Season 3 Episode 2 Ending Explained
Why does Zava sign with AFC Richmond?
Zava meets with Chelsea during the match with Richmond. The rumor is he was going to sign with them, but Rupert swoops in, and Rebecca knows he is going to West Ham. Why? Because she knows Rupert is very persuasive. In the men’s room, Rebeccas ambushes Zava and calls him “chicken shit” because he could play anywhere if he were truly great.
Why not for AFC Richmond, a team that genuinely needs him? So, at the Chelsea signing ceremony, he announces he has changed his mind and that he will sign with AFC Richmond.
