We discuss 10 TV Shows like Sex/Life you must watch. Add these well-recommended and steamy series to your watch list.

The older you get, the more complicated relationships become. You begin to question if monogamy is the way to go and if humans are built to live decades with only one person.

Sex/Life challenges this through the power of fantasy. A suburban mother of two takes a fantasy-charged trip down memory lane, setting her married present on a collision course with her wild-child past.

It’s a fun show because the young adult in everyone never really fades because the memory of how you used to stays in the back of your mind. Sadly, life happens, and it never turns out how we hoped.

Motherhood is always tricky to navigate, and women do not have any manual to prepare them to differentiate their entire personalities. Women have to be everything to other people and then lose themselves.

The series below all show different relationships and question the many ways they can work and the many ways they can fail as well.

10 TV Shows like Sex/Life you must watch

Elite (2018)

When three working-class teenagers begin attending an exclusive private school in Spain, the clash between them and the wealthy students leads to murder. This series is more of a teen-based exploration of relationships that tests every character on the show.

In a way, it shows what life was like before ever adulthood before it gets messy.

Desperate Housewives (2004)

Secrets and truths unfold through the lives of female friends in one suburban neighborhood after the mysterious suicide of a neighbor. This series highlights the best of women because every person goes through different things and lives their life differently as well.

These women may not agree with each other, but they do help each other through some situations.

Love (2016)

A program that follows a couple who must navigate the exhilarations and humiliations of intimacy, commitment, and other things they were hoping to avoid. This Judd Apatow-produced series on Netflix was the most authentic series about love and relationships.

There was so much honesty poured into these characters, and it’s more important to show the awkwardness of love than its unattainable perfection.

The Affair (2014)

A struggling novelist and a young waitress create an extramarital relationship that promises to change their lives forever. The Affair is considered a controversial series because of how it explores the feelings of both parties involved.

Sex Education (2019)

A teenage boy with a sex therapist mother teams up with a high school classmate to set up an underground sex therapy clinic at school. This is more of a fun series about sexual encounters in high school and how teenagers think they know everything about intimacy and sex.

There’s definitely a complex with Otis (Asa Butterfield) because his mother is where he gets all this information from.

Sex and the City (1998)

Four female New Yorkers gossip about their sex lives (or lack thereof) and find new ways to deal with being a woman in the late 1990s. For women, Sex and the City is probably considered the dating bible in the 90s, but their stories are still relatable today.

The Sex Lives of College Girls (2021)

Four 18-year-old freshman roommates at Essex College in Vermont. A bundle of contractions and hormones, these sexually active college girls are equal parts loveable and infuriating. Much like Sex and the City, here comes a series that modernizes what young girls go through in the dating world.

Insecure (2016)

It follows a modern-day African American woman’s awkward experiences and racy tribulations. There are many ways to look at the dating pool, and Issa Rae became a star because of this series.

It came out at a time when the dating scene was shifting, and Issa Rae took a stab at writing her own experiences and made a really good series for HBO.

Love Life (2020)

Anna Kendrick stars in a fresh take on a romantic comedy anthology series about the journey from first love to last. Somehow the dating scene has gotten worse over the years, and there needs to be more romance on the screen to give people hope that relationships can still happen.

The Girlfriend Experience (2016)

It explores the relationships between exclusive escorts and their clients, who provide far more than just sex. Known as GEFs, they are women who provide emotional and sexual relationships at a very high price. The concept of this series is interesting enough to see how people approach relationships differently.
