Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 is the latest animated project to hit Disney Plus, and it focuses on Cloneforce 99, aka the Bad Batch, as they make their way in a rapidly changing galaxy.
The finale wrapped up the season, delivering one shocking twist after another. It’s safe to say the Bad Batch won’t be the same again.
The season hasn’t been a hit with everyone, however, as it shifts its focus between the more heavy and interesting Imperial side of the story, showing how the Empire replaces the clone army and their reaction to that, and the lighter but less appealing side showing the Bad Batch going on fun adventures in the galaxy. Now that the season is over, it’s time to consider whether there will be another.
Will there be a Season 3 of Star Wars: The Bad Batch – renewed or canceled status

April 5, 2023 Update
While The Bad Batch has not yet been renewed for a third season, the ending makes it look very likely. The plan to set a homing beacon on Doctor Hemlock’s ship at an Imperial summit is interrupted by Saw’s attempt to blow up the meeting, meaning that Cloneforce 99 can’t get the location to Mount Tantiss to save Crosshair.
Worse, when Omega is hurt and the crew flees back to Ord Mantell to get help from AZ-3, Cid turns them over to the Empire. Doctor Hemlock arrives and successfully captures her, and takes her back to Mount Tantiss.
The season ends rather ominously. Audiences see Crosshair and other clones hooked up to lab equipment for experimentation. Omega meets her sister Emerie though, meaning she has a potential ally.
Hunter, Wrecker, and Echo manage to flee, but they still have no idea where Hemlock’s base is. A third season would likely focus on them finding Mount Tantiss and getting Omega back.
A third season would also show the continued expansion of Imperial power throughout the galaxy. Tarkin wants to expand the Imperial military further and send all the clones to Mount Tantiss for experimentation. When the clones find out about this, they’re likely to rebel.
This rebellion has natural leaders in Cloneforce 99 and Rex. Whether this rebellion would have some success isn’t clear, but its failure would explain the lack of clones in the galaxy and why Rex decides to settle down on Seelos in Star Wars: Rebels.
As for when a third season will be announced, it will probably be at Star Wars Celebrations, during The Bad Batch panel on April 10. A release date is unclear, but fans will likely wait a year, perhaps longer.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3 Release Date
Fans will be eagerly awaiting details of a release date. Disney have not yet confirmed when we may see a third season of the Star Wars series.
However, if Season 3 of The Bad Batch is confirmed during Star Wars Celebrations, then we should expect a premiere date in the first quarter of 2024.
You can watch this series with a subscription to Disney+.
This is great information. I myself enjoy watching The Bad Batch and can watch it over and over. It’s full of adventures that Omega and the others venture onto. I am a star wars fan and hope they continue with more seasons.
I really enjoyed The Bad Batch and hope there will be a 3rd season.
Yes,like this article says, The Batch lost Tech. Thet aren’t sure,if he is alive or not. They have to go get Omega back & save Crosshair. I’m Really hoping for a 3rd season also..
I am life long Star Wars fan and have fell in love with the series. Enjoy watching the series on Disney. It helps make Disney one of my choice subscriptions. The lost of Tik was sad. Hopefully there is way to bring him back with the other heroes of the show. Rex, Tank, Omega even Cross Hair.
I find the show well written and entertaining. Please not only keep the show but bring it back in 2023.
Just watched the last episode of season two, missing my Good Bad Batch already.
Thanks
Amazing way to end it fantastic. Wow I’m so impressed n happy to have you guys at Disney? I’ve been watching bad batch with my family and is such a thrill to be watching a family and explain to them the scientific matters of cloning in future science, but I am very happy and I would love to put some input into your future bad batch as a gray cartoon she’s never been, a lifetime achievement for you guys to we should create this or even make it seem like I am infinity Star Wars forever. Surgical show my kids love it I adore. Thanks.
Man nadzieje ?eBarris offe pojawi si? w 3 sezonie Bad batch
I think there ought to be a season 3 because the back story is awesome and I am excited to see what happens next
I sincerely hope you guys and gal’s bring back Bad Batch season 3 asap I truly love that series and have been a Star Wars fan from the beginning
I wish it wasn’t so long to get a show everyone likes like bad batch the wait time almost ain’t worth the time we get to watch a series come on man get it together
The second series has been uneven but still very watchable. The betrayal was obvious from the start but needed more nuance. The family storyline was far better and well carried out but the major flaw is the inadequate betrayal of the clones. When the destruction of the clone “factory” is revealed to be an empire led event the clones don’t seem to care beyond a small group, the senate just go carry on old boy emperor and everyone’s tickets boo. I know that evil succeeds because good people do nothing until it’s too late but this was ridiculous. I hope that series 3 does a better job of dealing with the twin stories of omega and the betrayal of the clones.
we need a season 3 this show is better than mandalorian, book of boba fett andor and obi one
