We discuss predictions for the Prime Video series The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 Episode 7, including the release date and where to watch online.

As we move closer to the end of the series, the creators get rather sentimental, offering fans a touching tribute to Susie (Alex Borstein) and Midge’s (Rachel Brosnahan) arduous relationship.

Framed by a testimonial event, comics and colleagues of Susie’s retell old stories, fleshing out Susie’s life and career.

It’s an emotional and touching installment that answers many mysteries the fifth season has put forward. Mainly why Joel (Michael Zegen) is in prison and why Midge fell out with Susie. Here’s what happened in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 Episode 6:

  • In 1990, comedians and guests attend Susie’s Testi-Roastial, a roast mixed with a testimonial, celebrating the manager’s life and career.
  • The Roastmaster, Stewart Jones, introduces the event, talking briefly about Susie and Midge’s falling out. He then retells a story about Susie cutting three infamous deals in one hectic day.
  • Aaron Lebowitz roasts Susie next, discussing Susie’s deal with her mentor Harry Drake. She cared for Harry on his deathbed, and he handed her his best clients in return.
  • Ray Ortiz mentions Susie’s involvement with the mob. A flashback explains how Susie started her partnership with Frank and Nicky.
  • Mike Carr roasts Susie next. He discusses how they became good friends. Susie helped get George fired from the Gordon Ford Show. Mike took George’s job. After this, they became the best of friends.
  • The comedians debate how Midge got out of her deal with the mob. They talk about Joel’s own infamous deal. He offered to work with the mobsters instead, saving Midge’s career without her knowledge.
  • Carmine introduces Susie’s sister Tessie next, who proceeds to sing. This segues to a story about one of Midge’s many weddings. Midge realized that she was still in love with Joel and pulled out of the wedding at the last minute. Susie was left to clear up the mess.
  • Next, the comedians discuss Midge and Susie’ falling out. Mike knows the details. Joel was arrested by the FBI for his involvement with the mob. This revealed Susie’s own involvement with them too.
  • Midge was furious that Susie lied to her for all those years, that the mob was secretly taking a cut. They argued and then never spoke to one another again.
  • As the roast comes to an end, Stewart plays a video message from Midge. She thanks Susie for her career and asks to meet up with her after all those years apart.
  • Susie is elated that Midge wants to be friends again and make amends.
