Hulu’s series adaptation of the Alexis Schaitkin novel Saint X passes the halfway point, stumbling towards its season’s finale. In episode five, “Colonial Interference,” Emily (Alycia Debnam-Carey) obsesses over her sister’s murder as she researches the possible killers. While on the island, Alison (West Duchovny) realizes that her summer flings may not be worth the effort.
It’s another poor installment, juggling far too many timelines and concentrating on numerous paper-thin suspects. Here’s what happened in Saint X Season 1 Episode 5:
- After Alison’s death, the many suspects start to show their true colors. Edwin runs, and Gogo hides. Ethan and Olivia seem suspicious also, while Tyler has lied to the police about his involvement. They all could be the proposed killer.
- In the present, Emily continues to research Alison’s death, finding an Alison Murder Tour run by Desmond. It’s Alison’s birthday, yet Emily is completely consumed by her investigation.
- Josh questions Emily about the cab driver, and Emily lies. She meets with Tyler, looking for more answers. Tyler remembers Edwin as a snake and Gogo as his bumbling sidekick. He heard that Gogo went to prison and Edwin may be in New York.
- Emily upsets Gogo, who doesn’t trust her anymore. He tells her that he is meeting with an old friend. Emily stalks him to an art show created by Bery.
- Gogo and Bery chat about the island and their old friends. Bery passes Gogo a letter, which causes Gogo to storm off, upset. Emily thinks it is from Edwin.
- Emily’s obsession causes her to get sacked from her job, along with Sunita.
- In the past, Tyler organizes a romantic meal for Alison. They kiss, and he gets forceful. Alison walks off. Olivia makes out with Wes.
- Flashbacks show the unorthodox relationship between Sara and Edwin. He controls and manipulates her. Telling her not to marry Gogo, even though she is pregnant with his baby.
- Sara confronts Edwin, asking him if he has feelings for her. Edwin refuses to answer and walks off.
- In the present, Josh scopes out of the cafe that Emily frequents. He sees Gogo and grows suspicious of this stranger.
Saint X Season 1 Episode 6 Release Date and Time
Episode 6 will be released on Wednesday, May 17th, 2023, at 12 am ET. Episode 6 is titled “Loose Threads of the Past” and will have a run time of 45 minutes.

Predictions
- Emily has lost her job and possibly her boyfriend because of this obsession. She will continue to pursue this investigation regardless of the consequences. Next, Emily will confront Gogo about his letter. She will tell him that she is Alison’s sister and wants to know the truth of that fateful night, whatever the cost.
- Gogo will run away. Later, he will change his mind, feeling compelled to tell her the truth, thinking that this will stop his nightmares.
- In the past timeline, Edwin will make his move on Alison during her final night on holiday. They will go out drinking to celebrate. Ethan might follow them to this bar and make his move, ending in Alison’s murder.
