The episode “International Break” follows the recent trend of lengthy episodes in Ted Lasso, but it stands out for its heartfelt moments and significant character developments.
These include the players participating in an international tournament, Roy (Brett Goldstein) confessing his feelings to Keeley (Juno Temple), and Nate (Nick Mohammed) quitting his job.
Here is what happened in Ted Lasso Season 3, Episode 10:
- Several AFC Richmond players are picked to play in the international tournament during the break, but Sam is left off the Nigerian team. The reason is Edwin holds a grudge against Sam for not quitting Richmond and returning to Nigeria last year.
- Edwin attempts to form a “super league” and price out the common fan. This doesn’t sit well with Rebecca, who implodes the meeting and manages to get the rest of the owners on her side.
- It appears Nate quit his job because he saw himself becoming Rupert. After visiting home, he returns to what makes him a person. We later see him apologize to Will by setting up his lockers and leaving him a note in the Richomand locker room apologizing for his behavior.
- Jack pulls funding from Keeley’s company, and her business is shut down. Rebecca comes in later as an investor to keep her from shutting her doors for good. Barbara resigns from Jack’s company and decides to be Keeley’s CFO.
- Rupert was having an affair with his assistant, and the series alluded to workplace complaints at West Ham.
- Roy apologizes to Keeley for his behavior last year and tells her he loves her. They end up sleeping together.
- The episode ends with Rebecca intentionally doing a “spit-take” into Ted’s face, saying it’s ceremonial, giving a nod to the end of the first season.

Predictions
- Are Roy and Keeley back together? I think so, and I think this will be the basis of the potential Ted Lasso spin-off.
- Now that Roy and Keeley may be back together, I think Jaime will date Roy’s sister after he comments on how attractive she was to him in this episode. I mean, can’t you see these two being great brother-in-laws?
- I think Nate will rejoin Ted’s coaching staff, but Jade going to Poland had me curious. Could the season end with Nate leaving England and living in Poland with Jade?
- I hope Keeley sues Jack for workplace harassment, just as I assume Rupert will.
- Edwin is a ruthless character, and I wonder if the season ends with him buying the entire premiere league.
It would be counter to the general spirit of Ted Lasso to have Edwin succeed. I would expect that Edwin will somehow be brought down by his own ruthlessness – perhaps a financial scandal or being assassinated by an equally rich and equally ruthless Nigerian criminal group that Edwin has somehow crossed.
