Summary

Though always farfetched, this was a fun episode with a surprisingly suspenseful second half.

We recap the Crunchyroll anime series Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 10, “Science Wars,” which contains spoilers.

With Kohaku (Manami Numakura), Ginro (Ayumu Murase), and Amaryllis (Saori Onishi) all on their way to the Master’s palace, it seems the group’s plan is going smoother than they’d hoped. As long as no one figures out Kohaku and Ginro’s real identities, they should have a real chance at finding the certification device.

However, with Moz (Kazuyuki Okitsu) already keeping a close eye on Kohaku and Ibara (Yutaka Aoyama) always close by, getting that might be easier said than done.

Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 10 Recap

The episode opens with Senku explaining how he used the resources they had to create an earpiece listening device disguised as jewelry that Kohaku will wear during the mission.

What is Senku’s plan to steal the petrification device?

Senku’s plan to steal the petrification device is to wait until Kirisame plans to throw it and take it then. He thinks by using Kohaku and the others to lure her away; they’ll have a better chance of taking it.

In order to take the petrification device while it is in mid-air, Senku plans to build a drone. Although Gen is skeptical, Senku is confident it will work if he can build a proper motor.

Considering none of them know how to write, Kohaku must send Senku a coded picture message to decipher. The code Kohaku sends to Senku says they found the platinum the group initially sought.

Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 10 Ending Explained

After deciphering Kohaku’s coded message, Senku realizes they have exactly what they need to make unlimited amounts of the revival fluid, thus saving everyone on the island and ship.

As always, this was an entertaining episode. There were more funny moments than I expected, but they were welcomed, especially when the second half took a more serious turn. Even when some of Senku’s inventions seem too good to be true, the story and plot are always solidly executed and grounded in such a way that it ties both the crazy and noncrazy elements together well.

It’s just unrealistic enough to be believable and fun to watch.

With only one episode left in this half of the season, I imagine things will get pretty intense next week. It almost didn’t feel like we were leading into a mid-season finale, but at the same time, considering the position Kohaku, Ginro, and Amaryllis are in, it wouldn’t take much to raise the stakes.

One little mistake on their part could quickly get them exposed, and it’ll be interesting to see if the finale plays up on that or plays it safe.
