This article discusses the possibility of the Prime Video series The Lake Season 3 and its renewed or canceled status.
Season 2 of The Lake follows Justin and Riley deciding to take their relationship to the next level. However, things quickly go awry between the two, with their relationship like the boathouse going up in flames.
While everyone in the town thinks Justin played a part in the boathouse burning down, he attempts to prove his innocence. While all that is happening, Maisy-May is dealing with her own drama as her mother has returned, claiming she is dying and wants to spend the summer with her family. She sets out to prove that her mother is lying, hoping to send her packing for good.
The Lake Season 2 has some highs and lows throughout, but what keeps you interested is the actors themselves. While the stories might not be on par with the first season, the development of the relationship between the mother-daughter combo of Maisy-May and Mimsy is hands down the best part. Julia Stiles and Lauren Holly play Maisy-May and Mimsy, respectively, and their banter throughout this season is hilarious. Stiles is someone who I miss seeing on my TV, and I hope that we see more and more of her in the future.
Will there be a Season 3 of The Lake on Prime Video?

As of right now, Prime Video has yet to announce whether or not The Lake will return for a third season.
The first season came in with a solid 63% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, with audiences liking it slightly more, that score coming in at 74%. With the season just kicking off, I would expect Amazon to sit back and see what critics and audiences have to say about Season 2 and the streaming numbers before they confirm a third season.
So what would The Lake season 3 look like if renewed? The series could go many different ways, and all depend on the characters on the show, who each have open-ended stories that they could tackle.
With the boathouse being rebuilt, we could see the reopening of that kick off Season 3 and how the town rebuilds itself with the new place. Also, with Mimsy on the verge of dying, we could explore a whole storyline about Maisy-May dealing with the trauma of life without her mother. Sure, the two didn’t have the best relationship, but losing a parent is never easy.
On top of that, Riley’s final words to Justin in The Lake Season 2 finale were “Let’s have a baby,” so we could explore what life would be like for them trying to find a surrogate. Plus, with Billie sticking around, we could see her explore new things and new relationships.
