This 2015 release was the recipient of numerous Golden Raspberry Awards. With a critics score of 9% on Rotten Tomatoes, this film certainly failed to leave a lasting impression on its audiences.
Although some critics weren’t all that impressed with this film, we still enjoyed it. Miles Teller gave a decent and stand-out performance with the material he was given. He saved the film from potential failure and made it an enjoyable watch, so thank you Miles.
9. Divergent Franchise (2014)
Originally a book series written by Veronica Roth, Divergent was adapted into a film franchise in 2014. Miles Teller plays Peter, who appears to have an innate hatred for lead character Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley). As the franchise progresses, we see Peter begin to help Tris in her efforts to overthrow the government.
Teller’s portrayal of Peter was extremely convincing, as he portrayed an unlikeable character, both to audiences and other characters. This franchise combines action with romance, both of which are familiar to Teller through his extensive acting portfolio.
8. Thank You for Your Service (2017)
This war film starring Miles Teller is based on a book of the same name by David Finkel. It tells the story of a soldier returning home after 15-months of service and having to deal with extreme PTSD. Miles Teller’s performance was heartbreaking and emotional, earning him praise for his role.

Another genre to add to Miles Teller’s movie repertoire, this psychological thriller also features Chris Hemsworth. This film is seriously intense. It follows a group of prisoners who participate in drug trials where their perceptions of reality are altered.
This suspenseful and intriguing film will leave you with a lot of questions and on the edge of your seat throughout. Having received mixed reviews, it’s up there with Teller’s best works.

Miles Teller movies don’t get much better than this. Arguably the catalyst to Teller’s recognition, this indie film is cited by many as his best on screen performance. We see Teller as a student drummer who is emotionally abused by his music instructor, played by J.K. Simmons.
Occasionally called the ‘Miles Teller drummer movie,’ Whiplash is about overcoming adversity and believing in yourself, and Teller shines in his role. Alongside Simmons he creates a masterpiece that was heavily awarded and acclaimed.
