Summary
A pleasant, even if slightly forgettable, installment.
This recap of the Netflix K-Drama series King the Land Season 1 Episode 6 contains spoilers.
Though this chapter didn’t exactly fire on all cylinders, Episode 6 of King the Land did provide ample amounts of entertainment, and neatly moved the plot along. Gu Won’s attachment towards Sa-rang is interestingly told, and Lee Jun-ho continues to deliver on all fronts in his portrayal of the rich heir. With that being said, it would be nice to have Da-eul and Pyeong-hwa’s stories fleshed out more, as there is certainly enough runtime to give the pair more on-screen space.
King the Land Season 1 Episode 6 Recap
What happens once Sa-rang is saved?
Using the company helicopter without approval, Gu Won arrives at Sa-rang’s location, ready to help. But the rescue mission is only properly complete when the area’s ginseng digger helps out after he finds the pair stuck together off the side of a cliff. Later, Gu Won promises Sa-rang a recurrence of an event like this will “never happen again.”
The next day, Sa-rang manages to convince Mount Jiri’s digger to start working with King Hotel thanks to her own retrieval of wild ginseng. This good news doesn’t sustain Gu Won’s personal happiness, however, as he appears jealous Sang-sik is becoming chummy with his concierge crush on the drive back to Seoul.
How do Sa-rang and Gu Won spend their time together?
With Sang-sik thrust out of the equation, Gu Won is free to spend time with Sa-rang. Though first, the rich heir is put to task by Soon-hee (Sa-rang’s grandmother), who gets him to peel onions while he waits for the concierge at her restaurant.
In time, the work colleagues do get a chance for some alone time, so seize it by eating street food and playing market games together. Then, Gu Won’s day is topped off by him eating gukbap alongside Sa-rang and her grandmother, where he seems to finally appease the elder.
Why does Sa-rang end up upset by Gu Won’s actions?
As Gu Won sets the wheels in motion for a date with Sa-rang, he also finds himself commended by his father for “saving” the concierge, despite going against company rules to do so. Elsewhere, Da-eul struggles with Ra-hee’s excessive work demands, which adds strife to her already complex family life.
At King the Land, Sa-rang is deflated by how close Gu Won appears to be with Yu-ri, a rich heiress of First Hotel celebrating her birthday. So much so, King Hotel’s Head Manager notices the concierge’s strange behavior and becomes concerned when she has to hand over the lavish gift intended for a woman clearly in one-sided love with him.
King the Land Season 1 Episode 6 Ending Explained
While Gu Won blows off Yu-ri’s advances, Sa-rang goes home in a disappointed mood, before drinking her woes away with her friends. There, she also opens up about her frustrations regarding men, until the mood is soured to the point the conversation cannot continue.
Then, during a cathartic night of karaoke and food delivery, the episode ends with Sa-rang opening the door to surprisingly find Gu Won waiting for her.
