While “Conflicts” pushes the narrative, it felt like a step down from the first two episodes. It wasn’t a bad episode, but it fell short of expectations.

Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) is stuck in the middle of a murder investigation in this episode of The Lincoln Lawyer. Regardless of every sign pointing him in the direction of not taking the case, a hotshot prosecutor gets under his skin, forcing his hand.

The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 Episode 3 Recap

Mickey talks to the detective about Lisa, who tells him that she more or less admitted to the murder before wanting to talk to her lawyer. Mickey sits down with Lisa at the station and tries to let her know what will happen to her. While she denies doing it, Mickey is hesitant, and Lisa is offended, but he tells her he is her lawyer and will do everything he can. Before he leaves, he tells her she must not tell anyone anything about the case.

Who is going to be the District Attorney for Lisa’s case?

Mickey runs into Andrea Freeman on the elevator. She confronts Mickey, saying she heard he was going to take the Lisa Trammel case, and reveals that she will be the one trying it. Of course, she reminds him that she is undefeated against him in the courthouse.

The back-and-forth banter causes Mickey to announce to the press that he is taking on the case, which of course, Lorna is frustrated about because of his conflict of interest. The judge lets the prosecutor and Mickey talk, leading to her announcing a $2 million bail for Lisa. Mickey and Lisa talk about the bail. She says she doesn’t have that kind of money, and Mickey says he will see what he can do.

What is Mitchell Bondurant’s cause of death?

As Mickey, Cisco, Izzy, and Lorna are going over the case, Cisco reveals the cause of death was hemorrhaging from blunt force trauma. They found a broken piece of glass and a coffee cup at the crime scene. Cisco also revealed that they have an eyewitness that saw Lisa Trammel leaving Bondurant’s office.

After taking Hayley to her horseback riding lesson, she tells Mickey that she overheard Andrea and Maggie discussing the case. This leads to Mickey playing hardball, drawing up a motion to take Andrea off the case. Instead of filing it, Andrea agrees to give Mickey the evidence asap. Of course, Maggie arrives at Mickey’s firm, upset with him for using their daughter in his case.

Who bailed Lisa out of jail?

As everyone is going over the case, there’s a knock on the door, and in comes Lisa, who is happy to be out of jail. She introduces Mickey to Henry Dahl, a podcast producer who interviewed her earlier in the year and bailed her out of jail. She explains that he will use her story to re-edit the old podcasts and turn them into movies. Mickey takes Henry aside and shows him the power of attorney Lisa signed, stating that he has control of all of her media dealings.
