Summary

“Bitch, I’ve Already Been to Prison” feels rushed. It’s a short installment that races through its plot points, lazily offloading information on Dominic’s betrayal. That being said, the show is still wildly deranged with a twisted sense of humor that will appeal to comedy fans.

We recap the Prime Video series The Horror of Dolores Roach Season 1 Episode 4, “Bitch, I’ve Already Been to Prison,” which contains spoilers.

Luis (Alejandro Hernandez) and Dolores (Justina Machado) have literally gotten away with murder, but they’ve also started to get a little complacent too.

“Bitch, I’ve Already Been to Prison” focuses on their plans to cover up the murder while Dolores unearths more of Dominic’s lies, and a fresh victim is added to the menu.

The Horror of Dolores Roach Season 1 Episode 4 Recap

Continuing on from that cliffhanger ending, it’s revealed that the two police officers after Luis are, in fact, just paying customers queuing in the shop. And the landlord’s son Jonah Pearlman doesn’t suspect anything out of the ordinary either. It was all just a trick from the filmmakers, after all.

Jonah wants to discuss the buyout and Luis’ overdue rent payments. Luis spins a lie about negotiating terms with Jonah’s father, Gideon, adding that they only spoke just a few days ago.

Jonah seems unsure of these circumstances but goes along with the story anyway. Luis then talks about Mr. Pearlman going on a trip. He even offers Jonah an empanada containing his own father’s meat.

Dolores is rattled by Luis’ twisted behavior and confronts the psycho after Jonah has left. Luis reiterates his plans to hide in plain sight.

He thinks his plot to get rid of the evidence is genius. Dolores retaliates, burning the remaining empanadas.

Why does Dolores go back to school?

Fearing what Luis is capable of and needing an out, Dolores decides to go back to school to gain her degree. She’s desperate for a fresh start and doesn’t want to go back to prison. Dolores heads to her old university, where she finds an old friend from her first time there.

Her old friend is Georgina Bellyard, an award-winning professor who now works at the university. Dolores is found wandering the corridors and asks for information so that she can enroll there. She doesn’t get a chance to speak with Georgina, though.

Back at the restaurant, Dolores bumps into her nemesis Marcie (Judy Reyes). The drug dealer has seen the long lines queuing outside the shop and thinks that Dolores is running a rival drugs business.

She accuses Dolores of stealing her customers.

Dolores tries to persuade Marcie that she has gone legit, this is a fast food business, and she is a masseuse. She doesn’t want to sell drugs anymore; she plans on going back to school.

As a truce, Dolores offers to give Marcie a massage to prove her wrong.

In the basement, Dolores starts to massage Marcie. Her enemy asks about the business and how she got started.

Dolores talks about her old cellmate Tabitha, a handless masseuse who taught her everything she knows. Dolores then talks about wanting to leave the city for some peace and quiet.

What does Marcie want from Dolores?

Marcie is impressed with Dolores’ ambition, adding that she could help her go far. Dolores asks for a quick break, flustered by Marcie’s comments. When she exits the bathroom, though, she finds Marcie rifling through her stuff. Marcie is after the drugs; adamant that Dolores is running a drug operation. She wants to find proof that Dolores is lying, that she is stealing customers from her.

Next, Marcie stabs at Dolores’ massage table, searching for the drugs, which she thinks are hidden inside the foam mattress. Dolores is heartbroken; her table is ruined.

Marcie says how Dominic purposely set Dolores up, allowing her to take the fall. She adds that she slept with Dominic too, and many other women did as well.

Dolores is enraged by Marcie’s evil tirade.

Why does Dolores kill Marcie?

Dolores sees red and attacks Marcie for these horrible comments and for destroying her table. As she did with the landlord, Dolores’ style of murder is strangulation once again. She strangles Marcie to death, snapping her neck for good measure.

Leaving the basement, Dolores finds Luis being interviewed by Caleb for his podcast. Dolores informs Luis that there is a new shipment for him in the basement, implying that she has killed another victim.

Once again, Dolores panics and flees the crime scene.
