Summary

The series starts to completely fall apart in “Blink Twice.” Lackluster fight sequences, ridiculous attempts at humor, and odd plot twists ruin all the build-up from earlier in the season.

We recap the Prime Video series The Horror of Dolores Roach Season 1 Episode 6, “Blink Twice,” which contains spoilers.

To become a serial killer, you need to murder at least three people. Dolores (Justina Machado) isn’t quite there yet, but she finds fresh meat in “Blink Twice,” the most deranged installment yet.

In this chapter, Dolores tackles multiple enemies in the basement while Luis (Alejandro Hernandez) deals with the health inspector upstairs.

The Horror of Dolores Roach Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

Carrying on from the last episode, Dolores heads upstairs to apartment 3B to meet with Sophia, Nellie’s grandmother, for information on Dominic. This introductory meeting goes terribly, and Dolores is pushed out by the talkative grandmother.

Back downstairs, the restaurant is doing well. Jonah has seen the relatively new success of the shop first-hand and pitches to Luis that they should franchise the business.

Luis is offended by Jonah’s prying and argues with the landlord’s son.

Why does Dolores give Hector a massage?

Next, drug dealer Hector enters the establishment, looking for a massage from magic hands Dolores. The masseuse is less than enthused to be associating with one of Marcie’s workers. But Hector mentions that Marcie is missing, so she takes him down into the basement anyway for further intel.

Hector talks about Marcie’s disappearance and starts to link this with the disappearance of Gideon too. Dolores worries that Hector has joined the dots and will be accusing her next, but she resists the urge to murder the drug dealer.

He loves the massage but comments on feeling dizzy. Hector’s throat swells up, and lumps appear on his face. He had mentioned being allergic to nuts.

Dolores accidentally used coconut oil on Hector, which caused this life-threatening predicament.

Dolores attempts to save Hector’s life but panics. Hector makes a stabbing motion in his leg and points to his clothes.

Dolores frantically searches through his clothes and finds his EpiPen. The masseuse doesn’t see Hector’s signaling and stabs him straight in the chest. This action seems to kill Hector instantly.

Once again, Dolores heads back upstairs after killing a customer. She goes to inform Luis, although he is with the health inspector.

No one at the restaurant was aware of this surprise visit, but Luis takes it all in his stride. Dolores hints at Hector’s death, warning Luis of the body in the basement.

How does Ruthie find Gideon?

Adding to the tension, Ruthie arrives with new evidence of Gideon’s whereabouts. She found his phone and hacked into it. Once inside, she found an app that tracked Gideon’s pacemaker, leading her straight to Empanada Loca.

Ruthie has finally found Gideon’s location, and Dolores knows she won’t just let this discovery slide. Dolores threatens her, ordering Ruthie to walk away.

Ruthie wants to keep investigating further but is spooked when she sees Hector’s corpse on the massage table.

She tries to run, and Dolores grabs at her. What follows is a rather amateurish fight sequence. Meanwhile, upstairs the health inspector hears the noises from below.

Luis distracts her and gives her a tour of the kitchen instead.

Dolores and Ruthie are equally matched. Ruthie agrees to walk away, pretending she hasn’t seen anything. Dolores doesn’t quite believe her, though, and pushes Hector’s corpse onto her.

Hector then wakes up, and Dolores stabs him to death.

What is the beeping noise?

She finishes her killing spree off by strangling Ruthie to death. Next, the health inspector asks to see the basement below. Luis takes her downstairs. They both hear a beeping noise, which happens to be Gideon’s pacemaker. Luis lies, saying that it is a faulty smoke alarm, which he promises to fix along with the broken step. The health inspector seems to buy Luis’ lies and leaves.

Luis informs Dolores that they have received an A- for their establishment. There’s no time to celebrate, though; they have two dead bodies to deal with.

Luis gets to work draining the blood from the victims. Dolores finally destroys Gideon’s pacemaker. She’s furious that Luis would leave around such an obvious piece of evidence.

The Horror of Dolores Roach Season 1 Episode 6 Ending Explained

Again, Dolores races off for some fresh air. She is accidentally hit by Jeremiah’s delivery truck wing mirror outside. Jeremiah helps her back up. He reveals that he knows everything about Dolores’ killing spree. Jeremiah has figured it all out.

Ironically, Jeremiah doesn’t want to turn Dolores in to the police; he actually wants her to help. Jeremiah wants a few individuals to kill himself. Dolores realizes that she has broken Jeremiah. She refuses to help him and leaves.

Back at the restaurant, Dolores tells Luis that all this killing has got to end. She’s killed Hector and Ruthie, which makes her a serial killer now, technically. Jeremiah is on to them. They are very close to being caught. She suggests that they start a new life elsewhere. Dolores wants Luis to accept Jonah’s buyout and take the money and run.
