Summary

A fairly skippable installment, though one which will still provide some smiles.

This recap of the Netflix K-Drama series King the Land Season 1 Episode 10 contains spoilers.

Although it was nice to take a complete break from the hotel setting King the Land has been flanked by, as well as from the drama of corporate power struggles, this episode struggled to contain enough substance to really captivate the viewer past the general positive vibe of the ongoings. Of course, it was all visually appealing stuff, and there were some interesting nuggets sprinkled in, but the story wasn’t progressed enough, and it’s hard to recall anything must-see.

King the Land Season 1 Episode 10 Recap

How does the Thailand trip start?

To begin the episode, we get a rundown of all of the Thailand trip excitement. Sa-rang and her friends are overjoyed to be staying in such a luxurious house, everyone relishes their time touring the country, and Gu Won even swallows his pride to share a room with Sang-sik.

Led by Sang-sik, the “we go hard” group unwinds by eating noodles, then ordering practically every piece of street food imaginable to enjoy together. The spirits are high as a result, but it’s obvious Gu Won and Sa-rang are hopeful of some alone time too. Meanwhile, a frustrated Hwa-ran hears of this incentive trip for the first time and gets one of her aides to look into it.

How does Gu Won succeed, and fail, at having alone time with Sa-rang?

That night, Gu Won and Sa-rang slip out to meet privately, allowing the two to share an intimate conversation together. “I’ll make every day of yours filled with happiness,” the rich heir states, wanting his partner to be able to freely enjoy things she hasn’t been able to before now (like holidays).

After another day of touring Thailand’s popular attractions, Sang-sik and co. top off their night with a ferry boat party. But this doesn’t exactly please Gu Won, who has been pining for extended alone time with Sa-rang and failed in his attempts to remove himself and his partner from the planned schedule by accidentally dragging his assistant out of the crowd instead.

What happens with Ro-un’s arrival?

Alongside Ro-un — he has joined up with the “we go hard” group to surprise Pyeong-hwa, and winds up staying overnight with them — the remainder of the night in Thailand is spent with everyone freely savoring their time near a scenic water fountain, clearly grateful to be where they are.

As Sa-rang and co. treat Da-eul to gifts, and tease Pyeong-hwa over her romantic admirer, Ro-un exits Thailand to return to work. Though the flight attendant doesn’t do so without a reminder to eat before he leaves, from none other than his crush.

The following day, Sa-rang and Gu Won ditch the “we go hard” group for “freedom,” meaning they can finally enjoy a date instead of abiding by Sang-sik’s group tour desires. This also provides the space for the rich heir to open up to his partner about his personal life, like how he and Hwa-ran have different mothers, and how his mother suddenly disappeared without warning.

King the Land Season 1 Episode 10 Ending Explained

While Sa-rang wishes to help Gu Won find his mother, the rich heir prefers to move on from the conversation. Thus, he thanks his partner for entering his life and opts to enjoy one final tour of the area as opposed to opening up any further.

To end the episode, Gu Won and Sa-rang dress up smartly, express their happiness, vocalize their love for each other, and share a kiss on a rooftop restaurant bar.
