The Netflix series Heartstopper returned for a second season, where we follow the growing relationship between Charlie and Nick. Heartstopper is a series based on graphic novels by Alice Oseman, who also wrote the scripts for the show.
Throughout Season 2 of Heartstopper, we follow the relationships growing at Truham Grammar School. From the relationship between Charlie and Nick growing rapidly to Tara and Darcy falling in love to Elle and Tao possibly exploring being more than friends, love was in the air all season long.
Charlie and Nick’s relationship journey in Heartstopper so far
In the early stages of Charlie and Nick, Charlie begins to crush on Nick, but his friends warn him not to fall for a straight guy. However, Charlie had this feeling that Nick wasn’t straight. After saving Charlie from Ben, the pair finally kissed, leading to their relationship’s beginning.
In season two, Charlie and Nick’s relationship, while under the radar to most, continued to prosper with the two in the early stages of puppy love. They consistently texted all hours of the day, seeing each other any chance they got and being wrapped in each other’s arms every single day.
While things are good, Nick still wants to keep their relationship private until he can come out. Charlie tells Nick to do it on his own time, but Nick feels the pressure of coming out. Every time Charlie tries to tell someone, he can’t do it.
Do Charlie and Nick end up together in Heartstopper Season 2?
So Charlie and Nick face many obstacles in Season 2 of Heartstopper. As we near the end of the school year, Charlie’s parents discover that Charlie is behind on his schoolwork, leading them to ban him from seeing Nick until the exams are over. While Charlie is going through that, Nick struggles to come out to anyone as he is scared of what people might think of him.
No matter what is thrown their way, Nick and Charlie’s foundation never seems to waver throughout the show. From Nick discovering Charlie’s eating disorder due to the bullying to Charlie standing by Nick’s side as he stood up to his brother and told his father he was gay to the pair dealing with an old wound together in Ben.
By the end of the season, Charlie and Nick were out to the world and stronger than ever.
Do Charlie and Nick break up in Heartstopper Season 2?
Regardless of the many different things that Charlie and Nick went through, not once did either of them waver on the idea of them needing to break up. On the surface, some things could’ve made them think they were better off separated, but neither ever spoke that into existence.
So the duo stayed together through everything and never broke up once.
