The seven-part series wasn’t easy to watch as it is filled with some raw emotions left in the eyes of domestic violence and child abuse.

That said, it’s one of the better-written stories I’ve seen about the topic that handles it in a way that makes it in your face while also forcing you to learn about how hard it is to deal with these kinds of traumatic things and how they can affect the rest of your life.

One of the vital pieces of the story in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart was Candy, and we share everything about the character below, including who plays her, why she is essential to the overall story, and where you might have seen this actress in prior projects.

Who is Candy in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart?

Candy is the adoptive daughter of June and Twig, who run the Thornfield Flower Farm.

Who plays Candy in The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart?

Actress Frankie Adams plays the role of Candy.

Why is Candy important?

Candy’s importance in the series is established early on with her being a more safe space for a young Alice to get back on her feet. As a result of her own childhood trauma, Candy is that big sister to Alice and is overly protective in many ways providing something she didn’t get while she was growing up.

Also, Candy had a relationship with Alice’s father, Clem. She grew up in the Thornfield Flower Farm with him. However, their relationship wasn’t great as Clem grew up very abusive to the other women in the house, including one incident where he raped Candy which led to this scar on her hand that we see early on in the show.

Throughout the series, we watch Candy help raise Alice on the Farm, but as Alice becomes older and wiser, she begins to see some of the things that June is doing. Of course, Alice ends up running away after discovering that June was the reason that Oggi because she sent him an email breaking up with him as Alice.

While on the run, we see Alice call Candy to ask her if she had any involvement in what June did, and she says no. As a result, Candy started to do her own digging to uncover the things that June had done and was hiding.

What is Frankie Adams known for?

Frankie Adams broke onto the acting scene with her role in the TV series Shortland Street. She played the role of Ola Levi for 278 episodes over five years.

However, most of you might know her for her time on the Prime Video Original Series, The Expanse, where she played Bobbie for 52 episodes. You could also see Adams in small roles in the hit series Wentworth or the film Mortal Engines.
