Summary

It is a bland romantic comedy that doesn’t deliver the laughs whatsoever and has a very odd storyline for the main characters.

Here is our review of the 2023 Netflix movie Squared Love Everlasting, which does not contain spoilers.

The Squared Love films have become a trilogy now on Netflix. Audiences were surprised with the first one, didn’t expect a second one, and now are confused by this third installment. It’s odd for a romantic comedy to have a trilogy, but there’s a first time for everything.

Squared Love Everlasting Review and Plot Summary

Monika and Enzo’s whirlwind romance heads toward a fairy-tale ending until a bombshell revelation changes everything. Their relationship has been rocky because they are two very different people.

You can even tell by watching them together over a dinner conversation. Enzo is more lively and puts on a facade that everything is going well, but he does become vulnerable because of insecurities.

Financial success is always a difficult path, and Enzo has tried to get his career going by building a following.

On the other hand, Monika is a school teacher, and she is trying to fit into this new position at school. She isn’t used to being in the spotlight and having a certain level of authority over the students. She is more timid and reserved than her husband.

Their career paths may be challenging, but you see that they are supporting each other through it all.

In the middle of planning their wedding and preparing for the biggest moment of their lives, Monika gets an email that will stay in the back of her mind because she wants to have children, but she’s having hormone issues that impact her fertility. He wants to have children as soon as possible. So they have relationship issues because of this.

They visit a priest, and he tells Enzo that he must resolve some issues with a woman named Ewa, who is one of his exes. When they meet, Ewa has a young son named Antek, who she says belongs to Enzo.

This is the turning point in the film because the test for Enzo to fully embrace becoming a parent is fully realized while Monika is trying to process the shift into motherhood. She questions her body and her purpose.

Is Squared Love Everlasting good or bad?

Sadly, Squared Love Everlasting isn’t that good because the performances aren’t strong enough, and neither is the story. The more the story unfolds with Ewa, the more problematic the film becomes, and it doesn’t feel as genuine as the first two installments.

There is more of a romantic aspect to the first two, whereas it feels so distant in this third one. This is definitely a departure from the first two.

Is Squared Love Everlasting worth watching?

Squared Love Everlasting is not worth the watch. If you enjoyed the first two, then you should watch it to complete the trilogy. It doesn’t add anything for the characters other than a struggle that wasn’t needed in the first place.

It’s as if they didn’t know where to take the couple to move the story forward and came up with something that wouldn’t necessarily happen in reality.
