Behind Your Touch Season 1 Episode 6 Recap - Who is Seung-gil?
3.5

Summary

Behind Your Touch has some stand-out funny moments here, and the plot also takes something of a welcome dark turn.

This recap of the Netflix K-Drama Behind Your Touch Season 1 Episode 6 contains spoilers.

Another funny episode of Behind Your Touch splits its time between cases, character development, and more explicit humor, sandwiching new cases between more serialized development.

The relationship between Jang-yeol and Ye-boon remains the show’s heart as it gradually coalesces into something more than a convenient working arrangement. But there are other pleasures in off-kilter romances, quirky cases, and underlying mystery.

Behind Your Touch Season 1 Episode 6 Recap

In Mujin, the women have a problem. A pervert is on the prowl, stealing underwear. It seems like a nothing case until a huge number of complaints come piling in.

What happens in Seoul?

In the meantime, Jang-yeol takes Ye-boon to Seoul. But it’s a working trip, not a vacation. One of Jang-yeol’s colleagues in Seoul has informed him of the murder of the escort that washed up ashore at the end of Episode 5 linking back to Baek, a criminal Jang-yeol’s efforts in catching have been consistently stymied due to lack of evidence and reticence on the part of the higher-ups.

Naturally, Jang-yeol wants Ye-boon to touch Baek’s behind so that he can find out what he’s up to (this episode has some clever uses of Ye-boon’s specific talents, but we’ll get to that shortly.) Through Ye-boon, Jang-yeol learns Baek has been buying up fishing boats.

Baek doesn’t like Jang-yeol’s meddling in his affairs, or his pretty stern warning, and asks Seung-gil to take him out.

Anyway, the underwear thief.

Who is Seung-gil?

After pulling an all-nighter the cops are able to find the knicker-sniffer, but after being chased by Jang-yeol, the pervert attacks him and escapes.

After recruiting Da-eun’s brother for a mission after a running test, Jang-yeol asks Ye-book to touch his back so he can find the criminal. And this is the clever twist on the gimmick, as Jang-yeol insists that Ye-boon look at only the pertinent information, which of course she doesn’t.

Instead, Ye-boon sees Jang-yeol annually celebrating the birthday of a man named Seung-gil, whom we learn switched sides to Baek, which ties the two cases together.

How is the underwear thief caught?

When she finally gets down to retrieving the right info, the underwear thief is caught by Da-eun’s brother during a chase. Jang-yeol, though, runs into Seung-gil, who stabs him in the spleen. Since Ye-boon was following Jang-yeol, she’s able to help him and keeps the details of Seung-gil quiet.

Jang-yeol is wished well by most of the Mujin residents, softening him a little, though he begins to become a little suspicious of Sun-woo. Later, Seung-gil talks with Ye-boon, and through his memories, she discovers that he deliberately stabbed Jang-yeol in a non-fatal area.

We also learn why Seung-gil partnered with Baek. When the nun who raised him fell deathly ill, Baek offered money for surgery. It was either accept it or lose someone he loved.

Behind Your Touch Season 1 Episode 6 Ending Explained

Nevertheless, Jang-yeol remains steadfast in his insistence that Seung-gil is nonetheless a criminal.

The episode ends with Seung-gil arriving in Jang-yeol’s room, covered in blood. He tries to pass on a message to Jang-yeol, but he’s in terrible condition, and he dies right there.

Ye-boon was able to catch a snippet of his final memories, which reveal he was killed by someone wearing a poncho.
