The relationship between Cruz and Aaliyah begins to wreak havoc on Joe’s plan in Special Ops: Lioness. After an intimate interaction with Aaliyah, Cruz’s head is scrambled, leading to her questioning whether or not she can push forward with the mission.

Joe, Byron, and Kaitlyn are calling anyone and everyone to try to gather a team to prepare for Aaliyah’s wedding and to protect Cruz. Of course, Byron says they must talk to the White House, but Kaitlyn says it’s too late for that, and they need to get boots on the ground ASAP. He agrees and starts to make calls to people in Majorca. Joe calls Kyle for part two of her favor and asks him to watch Cruz until they set up a team.

Aaliyah takes Cruz shopping for new outfits, and while they are trying clothes on, Aaliyah asks her about the other night (when they kissed). We see Aaliyah ask Cruz to come over, and she starts to kiss on her stomach when they are interrupted.
Who tells Joe about Cruz and Aaliyah?
After almost being busted at the store, Aaliyah takes Cruz to an apartment to pick up where they left off. As the two start to have sex, we see Kyle, a few levels down, listening to what is happening. Of course, Kyle called Joe to ask if she had listened to the audio, and she said no. Kyle said you might want to because they are in a relationship.
How does Joe react to Cruz and Aaliyah’s relationship?
Joe immediately flies out to meet with Cruz. Cruz is confused because she doesn’t know how to switch her feelings off, and Joe doesn’t get angry but tells her that Aaliyah doesn’t love her and that Amrohi is the biggest threat to the country since Bin Laden. She tells her she needs seven days out of her, and Cruz agrees to go back.
Before leaving for Majorca, Joe heads home in time to meet with Hannah after she was released from the hospital. She asks Hannah to forgive her for not being there for her this week. Hannah asks if where Joe is going could she die, and she says yes. She asks her to promise she will come home, and Joe says she can’t but will try.

What does Joe do to get Cruz’s head back on the mission?
As Joe and her team head to Majorca, Joe knows that Cruz’s head isn’t in the game. So, on the long flight, Joe hands her a computer where she shows all of the evil things that Amrohi has done. From videos bombing innocent people to chopping people’s heads off for sport, Cruz gets emotional as she watches.
