Summary
“Chasing Ghosts” is a lackluster installment from Invasion, packed with corny dialogue, cliched humor, and some illogical plot developments. There is something a little off about the majority of the cast throughout this episode as well. This could possibly be down to over-acting or just their poorly written characters.

After focusing on Mitsuki (Shioli Kutsuna) and the Maliks in the season opener, the second installment, “Chasing Ghosts,” centers on two different narratives entirely.
We follow Jamila (India Brown) in the UK as she searches for Caspar (Billy Barratt). Whilst Trevante (Shamier Anderson) sets off on his own quest in the southern states of the USA, following Caspar’s clues.
Invasion Season 2 Episode 2 Recap
Jamila’s adventure begins in Wellingborough, UK. She has haunting dreams in which she hears Caspar’s voice and sees an eerie red moon up in the sky.
Jamila feels Caspar’s presence during these dreams like he is calling out to her. When she wakes, Jamila is filled with a strong desire to find Caspar, who she fears is in danger, and calls out for help.
Jamila thinks Caspar could save the world from this alien invasion.
Why does Jamila run away from home?
Her mother isn’t interested in this fantasy, though. Jamila abruptly decides to run away from home and follow her destiny regardless. She leaves her mother a message and sets off on foot in search of Caspar. Jamila walks the abandoned streets of England, observing all the missing persons’ posters on her route.
The police chase after her through this ghostly city, but Jamila manages to escape. She sees the red moon high up in the sky, just like she had envisioned. Next, Jamila heads to a hospital morgue where Caspar is supposed to be located.
Where is Caspar?
Jamila cannot find Caspar’s body but looks up his file in the hospital instead. He has been transferred to Saint Paul’s Hospital in Paris. She also finds Caspar’s old cassette player, which brings back precious memories of her time with him. This spurs Jamila on even more.
At a refugee camp, she finds old friends Alfie and Darwin. They agree to help Jamila with her mission to Paris. They break out at night and look for a sports car to steal.
Alfie and Darwin argue during this heist, setting off a car alarm in the process. This wakes the homeowner, who happens to be Monty, another friend of theirs.
The second subplot focuses on Trevante. We find him living as an outcast in Miami. He attends a family party, but he is still visibly traumatized by the sights that he has seen.
Trevante saves a boy from drowning at the party, which somehow causes an aggressive outburst in the soldier instead of relief.
Why does Trevante travel to Oklahoma?
Trevante is then kicked out of the family home after this incident. They urge him to go and continue his soul searching elsewhere. He decides to investigate the aliens further at internet cafes, using Caspar’s notebook to help with his research. Trevante soon finds pictures of a mysterious object in McCurtain County, Oklahoma online that matches one of Caspar’s drawings.
He drives to this specific location, hoping to find the object in the picture, but the place is heavily guarded by the military. They have set up a base and perimeter in this area.
Trevante sneaks in at night, dressed in his army gear. He pretends to have been sent there by the military. After being briefed, Trevante starts snooping around the labs, investigating their odd experiments.
Invasion Season 2 Episode 2 Ending Explained
Trevante’s subplot ends with the soldier being caught. They have finally seen through his lies and arrested him. He is then thrown into a cell block for his treachery, and his backpack containing Caspar’s notebook is taken from him.
Back in England, Monty decides to help out his friends after all. He tells them that his dad owns a flat in Paris, how convenient. They shall head there first.
All the kids then hop into one of Monty’s father’s cars, ready for their grand adventure to commence.
