Julie Sykes and Lucy Truman are the authors of a series of books that feature the titular boarding school and the magical world of the Unicorn. A series of chapter books follows the students who are paired with their unicorns and the adversities that they face.
The premise certainly lends itself to more stories featuring the concepts from the original run of books, and it does appear that there will be more content from the intellectual property in the future.
A quick search reveals that there is already a major push for merchandise associated with the books and TV series available, and it appears that in 2024, there will be a range of toys available featuring the characters, and a video game is also in the works.
Who is behind the Unicorn Academy franchise?
The global children’s entertainment company Spin Master revealed the details behind the launch of Unicorn Academy in March 2022. The release would include details about the Netflix series and the rolling out of merchandise, toys, and a game.
“Our team has done an amazing job of bringing the magic of Unicorn Academy across all play patterns,” says Max Rangel, Spin Master’s Global President and CEO. “We want to be where kids are; whether it’s in toy boxes, on their TV screens, or on digital devices, Unicorn Academy will be there to ignite, engage and inspire new fans. Kids are going to fall in love with the experience of connecting with the characters and entering the world of Unicorn Island. This is our biggest production to date because we truly believe this will resonate with a generation of kids on various play platforms.”

An article on License Global would also reveal that the company has plans for more content throughout 2024 and 2025, with over 250 minutes of short and long-form content that will include music videos and original material.
