Summary

Although “Tragic” might be the best episode since the pilot, the writers continue to pile up more storylines without any meaningful resolution.

Between another death and someone being exposed for lying, Episode 6 of Death and Other Details ramps up the drama. Imogene is devastated to have been played by another man while someone turns up dead when trying to turn over evidence to Agent Eriksen. Season 1 still lacks resolution, but “Tragic” is one of its best episodes thus far all the same.

Inside the walls where Rufus is exposed, they begin to realize that this room goes throughout the entire boat. He attempts to call Imogene, who is preoccupied with sleeping with Sunil. Finally, he is able to track her down to tell her about what was within the ship.

Sunil gets a call on a mystery phone stored away, and he confronts them about why they are following him. The man says that they are always watching and they own him. Sunil attempts to tell them he will no longer spy for them, and they bring up his having feelings for Imogene. Before threatening them to leave her alone, they hung up.

Who is Sunil working for?

After getting off the phone, Rufus and Imogene are waiting beside him. Imogene says that was “him,” Victor Sams. When Sunil tries to explain, Rufus says that he bankrupted himself, ran out of options, and took dirty money to take the deal.

Sunil explains that they approached him with the offer, but he rebuilt the ship and didn’t hear from them for five to six years. He continues to try to explain that he didn’t know anything about Victor Sams or his involvement and meant everything he did and said to Imogene, but she isn’t buying it.

Anna gets drunk and sings karaoke with Tripp. She begins to unpack that she cheated on Leila but doesn’t know. She also tells him that Leila has asked for a divorce. Tripp tries comforting her and says she should try to win her back.

Who dies in Episode 6?

Alexandra sits with Agent Eriksen to tell her she has incriminating information on Lawrence Collier. Before she speaks, she wants complete immunity from prosecution and never having to testify. When Alexandra hands over the book to Agent Eriksen, the book is filled with blank pages. Seconds later, she starts to choke and dies.

Rufus and Imogene start to look over Alexandra’s body to figure out what happened to her. She was poisoned, and it attacked her respiratory system. Rufus says she has been dead for three days but didn’t know it. Of course, this means she was killed while they were on board.

Who killed Governor Alexandra?

Rufus and Imogene head to visit Winnie, who announces, “I take it the governor is dead,” knowing that it was around the time the poison kicked in. She told them they had a flip phone in her room and would call when they needed something, from doctoring the IV, getting in the bar cart, and killing the man in 534. But swears she didn’t know who Victor Sams really was.

Things quickly unravel when Leila catches Anna cheating on her with her ex on the files kept on the server by Viktor Sams. But as she starts to unpack other things that happened, the entire boat’s electricity shuts off. There is plenty of commotion on the ship’s deck, where we see Llewellyn Mathers on the boat’s edge, ready to jump. He looks at Rufus and calls him a fraud before he jumps.
