Summary
The best part of Death and Other Details ending is that we don’t have to sit through any more of the convoluted story. An underwhelming, overstuffed finale that tries to set up another season.
Imogene revealed who Viktor Sams was in Episode 9, and now, in the season finale of Death and Other Details, Imogene unpacks the why of it all. Kira Scott reveals each detail of why she had to fake her own death and begin her attack on the Colliers while also staying away from her. Episode 10 is overstuffed and brings Season 1 to an underwhelming conclusion, with the ending desperately trying to set up Season 2.
The ship has blown up, but Kira (Agent Eriksen) tells Imogene that the plan is to get everyone off safely, and we see the two of them, along with others, get inside boats and out of Dodge. Kira says she wants to tell Imogene everything, and if she wants to leave, she can. Imogene forces her to give her every detail leading up to her disappearance.
Why did Kira Scott fake her own death?
One night, Kira was going home, and she was attacked by a man who tried to kill her. The Colliers hired the man, so she knew that the only way to get out was to fake her own death. The night of the car explosion, Kira pulled out a few teeth and left them inside to have some sort of DNA for them to find.
Tripp is talking to Leila about how she and Anna just signed their divorce papers. Anna is swimming in a pool with two women while she is doing drugs. At the same time, Tripp is telling Leila how he has to stay here to protect his father, who is getting worse by the day. Teddy is working at a restaurant where she asks a man where Winnie is, and he tells her to give her some time and space.
Imogene tells her mother that she understands why she is doing what she is doing but tells her she wants her to give it all up for her. Kira asks her what they would do, and we fast forward six months later, where the two are skiing together. Although Imogene thinks her mother has given up her past life, we see her answering calls and still working to take people down.
Of course, Imogene isn’t dumb, so we see her at the restaurant pull up an extra chair where Rufus arrives to chat with her and Kira. He says it didn’t make any sense that she let Lawrence live because he was at the heart of the attack on her. Rufus explains how he figured out she used the same chemical that was killing those people on Lawrence to cause him to think he was getting dementia.
What happens to Kira Scott?
Upon confronting Kira on the ship, she had Sunil, Leila, and Jules take the servers out of the room before the ship blew up. The FBI is raiding Kira’s warehouse as they are sitting there. Although Kira pulls a gun, they are one step ahead, taking the bullets out of the weapon, and we see agents surround Kira and arrest her.
Sunil calls Imogene to let her know his trial is coming up. He says it is not looking great for him but promises to call her when he gets out. Jules and Imogene head down the ski trail, and the duo share a passionate kiss in the snow.
How does Death and Other Details Season 1 end? Who killed Katherine Collier?
The henchman we met on board the boat came to confront Anna and inform her that she would be talking to him now. We get a flashback of Anna and her mother Katherine talking on the boat, where she confronts her about Kira’s death. Katherine raises her voice, and Anna hits her, revealing she killed Katherine, and Kira Scott protected her.
Anna looks back at the man and asks, “What does she need me to do?” We see Imogene, along with Leila and Jules, walk on a bloody trail of body parts as the episode ends.
