Finally, Palm Royale delivers a strong episode that leaves you wanting more. Kristen Wiig is only getting more and more comfortable in the role of Maxine, making the show better.
In Episode 3 of Palm Royale, Maxine’s back is against the wall again as she tries to impress the ladies. After appearing on the cover of the Shiny Sheet, Maxine finds herself the talk of the town. With the Beach Ball around the corner, Maxine scrambles to doll up the Dellacorte Mansion to impress the ladies.

Who is the lead story of the Shiny Sheet?
Maxine’s landlord has had enough of her not paying her bills and has begun throwing her stuff out of the room. She visits Mitzi in an attempt to get back on track, but Mitzi is upset about her breakup with her boyfriend. Mitzi breaks the news that Maxine is the lead story of the Shiny Sheet. The town wonders if Maxine Dellacorte will be the belle of the upcoming Beach Ball.
Attempting to rub it into the ladies, Maxine visits them to brag about being the lead story. Because she isn’t happy, Dinah decides to make an ass out of Maxine by saying she should have the ladies at her house. Of course, Dinah suggests it would be a great time, and a flustered Maxine says it will be at the Dellacorte Mansion, which shocks everyone.
Upon arriving at the Dellacorte Mansion, Maxine realizes things aren’t up to snuff for her upcoming party. First, she tries to throw out Robert, but he isn’t having it. Then, she notices there isn’t food in the house, so she heads to get help from Linda. Regardless of Linda’s frustration with Maxine, she can’t resist helping her prepare for the party.

Each person who arrives at the house mocks the idea of Maxine living in the Dellacorte Mansion. They also order drinks, and Maxine realizes she doesn’t have anyone to make drinks. She attempts to get help from Robert, but he turns her down. No matter what she says about the upcoming Beach Ball, the ladies laugh at her and criticize each idea.
Who will get Norma’s inheritance?
The meeting with the ladies was a disaster with everyone leaving before they even ate. Evelyn stays back to ask Maxine if she really has any money, and Maxine lies, saying she has a lot. She further explains that when Norma passes, Douglas will inherit the estate. However, Evelyn breaks the news that when Norma dies, her money will go into a trust benefiting the Palm Beach Pedigree Feline Society.
How does Palm Royale Season 1 Episode 3 end?
Evelyn explains that she and Norma were really close, and Norma states that Douglas would be the last person she would leave her inheritance to. Evelyn says SHE will be hosting the Beach Ball inside the Dellacorte Mansion, and she will give her a little fee for using the house to help her save face. Not thrilled with what she heard, Maxine pleads with Evelyn, who tells her if she finds the key to the safe deposit box and gets the Rolodex, they will be in business.
At the end of the episode, we see Douglas return home, where he and Maxine begin to have sex. Linda was getting ready to leave after spending the night with Robert, and we saw the Rolodex Maxine was looking for in her hands.
