The chase to take down Tozawa has seen people throughout Tokyo Vice chasing their tales, but Jake and Detective Katagiri finally might have the nail to put in his coffin. Heading into Tokyo Vice Season 2 Episode 10, the finale which is set to air on April 4th, we have many questions remaining to be answered, so let’s take a stab at answering them here.
“Endgame” will follow Jake and Detective Katagiri as they close in on a pivotal piece of evidence in the case against Tozawa. As that happens, Sato is preparing for the biggest power move in his life.
Will Detective Katagiri find the Tozawa and FBI agreement?
At the end of Tokyo Vice Episode 9, we see Tozawa’s wife, Kazuko, telling Detective Katagiri where they could possibly find the document that puts Tozawa and the FBI together. This has been something that Detective Katagiri and Jake have been hunting down after putting the pieces together. I predict they find it, but not before entering troubled fields.
What will Detective Katagiri do with the papers?
Personally, this is the most intriguing question heading into the finale. Surely, Katagiri will end up with the papers, but can he trust the department to process them and arrest Tozawa? I don’t think he can. Also, can Jake run the piece in the paper? In prior instances, we have seen that that is a no. So where does that leave him giving the papers? Well, I could see him giving them to Sato, who could use them to take down Tozawa from the inside.
Will Sato take Tozawa down?
As I mentioned above, the idea of Detective Katagiri giving Sato the FBI agreement with Tozawa is more than likely his best option to get justice. Sato struggles with everyone around him, signing deals with Tozawa and losing steam by the day. If he does get the papers, will it be enough to take down Tozawa? I believe so. I can’t imagine any of the yakuza being okay with Tozawa working with the FBI and taking down their fellow gangs across the border. Sato’s making this move could solidify him as the new man in command of the Chihara-kai if things fall in his favor.
Who is directing the season finale?
Josef Kubota Wladyka is back in the director’s chair for the season finale after directing Episode 9. Wladyka has directed some of the best episodes of the season, so I expect the finale to bring an incredible close to the season.
