The world quickly falls apart in front of Tozawa’s eyes during the ending of Tokyo Vice Season 2Detective Katagiri calls an audible in his plan to help take down Tozawa, leading to deadly consequences. As that happens, Jake and Eimi race against time to produce an article to take everyone involved with helping Tozawa down. Tokyo Vice delivers a masterclass in Episode 10 to wrap up the season.

Jake calls Eimi to try to get the piece about Tozawa out, but she tells him that the story is dead. She also tells him about Tin Tin and promises to find a home for his article. Jake calls Detective Katagiri to tell him what is happening and that the piece isn’t being released. He goes to Plan B and gets Misaki to sign off on a search warrant for Tozawa’s boat because it’s in her name.

What does Detective Katagiri find on Tozawa’s boat?

Detective Katagiri and a few of his fellow detectives arrive with Jake on Tozawa’s boat. But when they arrive, one of the crew takes the documents they are after and escapes with them. After a quick chase, they can get the papers from the man. Inside the safe, they also find a check from the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jotaro Shigematsu, signed to Tozawa.

Tozawa’s men locked in on Misaki’s location, but not before they saw them outside. Samantha, Misaki, and one of Sato’s men escape out the back to get out of Dodge. But Tozawa decides to make a play of his own by visiting Misaki’s mother. He tells Misaki that she must bring herself and Jake to him ASAP, or he will kill her.

Who does Detective Katagiri give the signed agreement to?

Tozawa’s consistent threats against the reporters at the paper cause Detective Katagiri to throw an audible into the plan. So, instead of letting Jake run the article in the paper, he turns over the signed agreement to Sato to allow him to utilize the documents against Tozawa.

Eimi brings what they have against Jotaro Shigematsu to her boss. But he explains that they can’t run the article because situations like this would make them look bad to the government, and it wouldn’t allow them to garner access anymore. He also admits to Eimi that he was the one who burnt the tapes and explains that Shigematsu will get his justice, but not in the printing of the piece.

Sato brings the papers to the yakuza’s head bosses and informs them that Tozawa is an FBI informant. Misaki sets up the meeting with Tozawa, but the yakuza are waiting for him to talk to them. Sato brings up the dozens of men like them that Tozawa has arrested because he ratted on them.

How does Tozawa die?

Although he tried to push back at the yakuza, his wife Kazuko walked in the door to explain that he had disappointed all of them. As a result, there is only one way he will die, and that is to kill himself, which he follows through and does.
