WARNING: THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS MAJOR SPOILERS

The finale of Virgin River Season 6 opens with Mel and Jack still riding upon Sugar after the previous episode. Jack takes Mel to the place where they spent their first days together. Back to where it all started – and no, I’m not getting teary-eyed, you are. Meanwhile, the guests at the wedding ceremony panic and turn crazy toward each other. Well, Hope does.

THE WEDDING IS BACK ON

As we transition back to Mel and Jack, Mel begins to apologize profusely for the doubts and fears she’s been having. Jack stands tall as her husband and brings her patience and understanding. Mel proceeds to open up about how she feels surrounded by loss (her mother, her father, her husband, her baby) and how that is leading her to fear the loss of him.

Jack delivers a beautiful speech – honestly, he deserves applause. Jack vulnerably tells Mel that he wants nothing more than her and accepts her past, present, broken places, and all, just as he’s trying to accept himself. Holding all parts of himself at the same time. “Because I take you, Mel… With all of it.” It truly is a beautiful speech.

So, of course, THE WEDDING IS BACK ON… Jack and Mel return to their ceremony and part to meet at the altar.

As a wedding surprise and gift to Mel, Everett performs the finished song he had written for Sarah. Mel and Jack use this as their first dance song—a beautiful, bittersweet moment.

That’s right, Jack and Mel are officially husband and wife.

BRADY, MIKE, BRIE, AND LARK

This is the episode we’ve all been waiting for! Brie and Brady – will they, won’t they? Happily ever after?

In this episode, we start the BMBL (Brady, Mike, Brie, and Lark) drama when Lark catches the password to Brady’s phone. We know that Lark overheard everything Brady said to Brie; we don’t yet know her plans.

Later in the wedding, Lark confronts Brady about what he and Brie spoke about—a test for Brady. But he lies. Lark plays dumb, sweet, and innocent. At this point, we’re just waiting to see her plan unfold.

As the wedding ends, Brady is searching around for Lark. He’s informed that she’s gone. Completely. From the wedding, from the hotel, from Brady. Brady opens up his banking app. And it’s EMPTY. Lark has wholly wiped out Brady of his money – her original plan, yet just from a different motive. We end season 6 with A BROKE AND BROKEN BRADY.

In between the Brady and Lark storyline, we have Mike and Brie.

Mel finds Brie after the crying session. And along comes Kaia, too. Suddenly, the girls are in a little gossipy group, and Brie confides in them both about sleeping with Brady. The girls offer many options for Brie, concluding that Brie shouldn’t be with either Brady or Mike.

Again, as the wedding night ends, Mike pulls Brie aside. He offers her a loving, sweet, sentimental speech about how much they’ve overcome and are always stronger together. Mike proposes to Brie. Brie confesses that she slept with Brady. Mike retorts that he already knew.

The question we viewers are left with is: WHAT DOES SEASON 7 HAVE IN STORE FOR BMBL?!

SEASON 6 ENDING EXPLAINED

We wrap up season 6 with a bundle of cliffhangers. What else should we have expected?

First and foremost, a minor character named Marley finds Mel in a panic. She expressed that the couple who were set to adopt her baby dropped out. Her plea is that Mel and Jack should adopt her baby. A new running storyline for Jack and Mel in Season 6 – will they finally have the family they’ve been dreaming of?

Secondly, Charmaine’s disappearance continues into the day after the wedding. Mel and Jack awaken as a newlywed couple scared for Charmaine. Jack gets out of the wedding bed and visits Charmaine’s house. As he arrives at the house, he knocks, and the door opens itself. All around Charmaine’s house are signs of an altercation. Jack fears the worst. He walks into the children’s bedroom, and horror hits his face.

So, how many happily ever afters? We’ll have to wait and see.
