The White Lotus is always about a murder. Season 3 is potentially about several; we know this because the premiere featured a bunch of gunshots and at least one floating corpse.

This is more like it. Not to say, “I told you so”, obviously, but after an episode that let conventionality creep in, to its detriment, The Hunting Party really gets back on the right track in Episode 6.

Bad news – the dead brother is back. And this is no offense to Carson Egan, who plays Eddie Black perfectly well.

“The Man with the Glowing Chest” isn’t about a man with a glowing chest, though one does briefly feature.

There’s an easy charm to The Potato Lab that feels like alchemy; narrative gold from leaden rom-com tropes.

America is the land of opportunity. It’s also, apparently, the land of thieves, sexual deviants, racists, judgy bureaucrats, and very long-winded travel options.

I get it. I get why The Potato Lab works, and it’s a surprisingly obvious realization, highlighted really capably by Episode 3.

Ever proving that there’s more than one way to skin a cat – or, in this case, air a K-Drama – Netflix elected to release When Life Gives You Tangerines, the expensively-produced IU-starring drama doubling as a love letter to Jeju Island, in four four-part volumes.

It’s clear that Yellowjackets Season 3 has entered more exciting territory now. And yes, I agree it’s about time.

Surface Season 2 hasn’t been very good, at least not if you ask me, but Episode 3, “Kintsugi”, provides an interesting turning point.

Severance is a great show, of that there can be no doubt, and Season 2 is on track to exceed the freshman outing in almost every way. But Episode 8, “Sweet Vitriol”, doesn’t help its case.

There's something just a little bit off about Season 3 of Reacher, and now we've returned to the present day after an episode spent almost entirely in the past, I think I've figured out what.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, it's worth reiterating that Poppa's House is a significantly better show when it's focusing on Poppa -- especially his relationship with Ivy.

The Hunting Party unfortunately ends its run of improving form in Episode 5. "Roy Barber" isn't a bad episode, by any means, but it is one that seems to miss the point of NBC's high-concept procedural.

At a pinch, you could quite easily forget that The White Lotus is still a murder mystery in Season 3. It’s the only show that can devote an episode to characters lounging around poolside and doing basically nothing and still be considered prestige TV.

There might come a time in the not-too-distant future when I’m able to look back and say Watson got good around Episode 4. It’s weird, though, because “Patient Question Mark” isn’t even a hugely notable improvement over the first few episodes.
