There might come a time in the not-too-distant future when I’m able to look back and say Watson got good around Episode 4. It’s weird, though, because “Patient Question Mark” isn’t even a hugely notable improvement over the first few episodes.

I think we can all agree that the Suits LA premiere was a little too chaotic for its own good. The good news is that things settle down a little bit in Episode 2, “Old Man Hanrahan”.

I know it say it all the time, but Taylor Sheridan’s fascination with animal-based peril is getting hilarious. Not that there’s a great deal of humour to be found in an episode titled “The Rapist is Winter”, to be fair.

Oddly, my concern with The Potato Lab is now that the weirdness of it might put people off. And that’s an interesting position to be in as early as Episode 2, since I’m still making a few assumptions about where it might all be heading.

What is it with K-Dramas these days? The concepts seem to be getting more and more bonkers. Now seems an odd time to suddenly decide that a good old rom-com isn’t enough anymore; there needs to be some kind of unique qualifying gimmick.

Yellowjackets Season 3 has been strange and inscrutable so far, and it isn’t like things get suddenly clear in Episode 4.

The unexpected return of a familiar face is the gotcha moment of “Speak of the Devil”, but until then Episode 2 feels a little too glossy to be engaging.

What is Lumon up to? This is the question that powers a lot of Severance, and rightly so, since the mega-corp is central to everything despite their motives always seeming elusive.

I’ve been thinking about Persuader a lot. That’s the book that Reacher Season 3 is based on, the seventh in Lee Child’s series and one that nobody really talks about.

When Mythic Quest enjoys its writing, it’s a lot of fun. Season 4, Episode 6 is one of those well-put-together and amusing chapters. I did not want the fun to end.

Can you recall a penultimate episode of any series being less urgent than "Prime Finder"? I don't think I can. Although I'm hardly surprised at this point.

Pardon my ignorance, but I thought a slumber party was something teenage girls did. Perhaps that’s true and Junior is just regressing even further into his default state of unevolved moron in the absence of his wife, who is sadly elsewhere for Episode 12 of Poppa’s House.

The premiere of Suits LA is like someone dared NBC to cram every character and subplot they plan to use in Season 1 into a single episode.

This is a big statement, but Episode 7 of Paradise is probably going to end up being the best hour of television of 2025.

I could still use more of The Pit, as a setting and a concept, but I think we're getting there to a certain extent, and in the meantime, there's enough interesting stuff going on to hold the audience's attention.

Watson isn’t doing itself any favors by titling Episode 3 “Wait for the Punchline”, since it gives smug critics like me too many openings to be all like, “Still waiting!”.

With the introductions out of the way, “Special Treatments” is another quintessential episode of The White Lotus.

It has been quite a while since the first season of 1923 ended on a relatively sour note.
