Summary

This series keeps on going from strength to strength, with the characters endearing the audience with ease. It’s a shame this k-drama series is going to end so quickly.

This recap of the Netflix k-drama series Mad for Each Other season 1, episode 10, “From Today We Are,” contains major spoilers.

Read the recap of the previous episode.

I feel bad for doubting this series back in episode 1 because it quickly turned into the part of my week that I look forward to.

Episode 10 begins with the Women’s Association confronting Seon-ho’s mother after the pain she has caused Min-kyung. They embarrass her in front of her friends, and then they talk privately; they tell her that they will attend every event she goes to unless she deletes all the online posts. Seon-ho’s mother agrees instantly. The Women’s Association tells Min-kyung what they’ve done, and she’s thankful.

Trigger-happy on the whistle

Is there anything cuter than Min-kyung getting drunk and then obsessing over the whistle due to what it represents?

While drinking with the Women’s Association, Min-kyung gets super drunk and laughs at how much they argue amongst themselves; she then uses the whistle on the way home for fun, and Hwi-oh finds her, believing she’s in danger. He asks the women if they forced her to go drunk. Min-kyung admits she likes the apartment because they are all nuts, and she is the most normal — she points out the weird behaviors of the other women. Hwi-oh drags her away before she says anything else stupid.

“It is urgent.”

Min-kyung gets into bed, and she whistles again, so Hwi-oh rings her and tells her only to use the whistle in an urgent situation. Min-kyung tells Hwi-oh it is urgent and that she needs him right now because she misses him. Hwi-oh is taken back by her words, and puts the phone down. So Hwi-oh heads to her apartment. Min-kyung tells Hwi-oh to stay with her until she falls asleep.

Relive the moment Hwi-oh teaches Min-kyung self-defense:

Their first kiss

And then the k-drama series intensifies the relationship — from friends to lovers.

Hwi-oh asks Min-kyung what she meant when she asked him to come over for food that one time, but she falls asleep listening to him. He looks at her sleeping face up close and laughs that she’s frowning; eventually, he is immersed by her features and looks at her lips — as he goes in to kiss her, she wakes up, and Hwi-oh is nervous. Min-kyung asks him what he was about to do, but Hwi-oh denies he was about to do anything. She tells him, “go ahead and do what you were about to do,” and kisses him. The kisses turn passionate as both characters give in to the sexual tension they had been holding together.

“Breakfast in bed”

After their steamy night, Hwi-oh makes breakfast for Min-kyung while she stays in bed. Min-kyung watches Hwi-oh cooking breakfast and smiles before pretending to be asleep again. Suddenly, the doorbell goes off, and it’s the Women’s Association. They both panic, and Min-kyung tells Hwi-oh to go into her bedroom. They invite her to a patrol and wonder if she has a guest over because her dog keeps barking.

When they leave, Hwi-oh tells her that he made breakfast for her and then kisses her on the cheek before leaving.

The ending of Mad for Each Other episode 10

Hwi-oh joins the patrol at night. They pair up, so Min-kyung and Hwi-oh work together on patrol. Min-Hyung is super into the patrolling, and she decides to check out a place with a weird smell. She comes across a person with a gas mask, and she’s scared.

This series keeps on going from strength to strength, with the characters endearing the audience with ease. It’s a shame this k-drama series is going to end so quickly.

Additional points
  • Hwi-oh’s mother and Min-kyung’s mother see a psychic about their children. They end up talking to each other and believe their kids will find someone to be with.
