Lucifer season 6, episode 5 recap
After being hugged by the non-demon, Chloe learns that she’s called Rory. Short for Aurora, which is what Chloe would name her daughter had she had another one. And with that, Chloe learns that Rory is her and Lucifer’s daughter! If there was any doubt before, there isn’t anymore.
Ella tells Amenadiel that she has the mystery to end all mysteries. Her sock is missing! Not only that, there’s a 7% uptick in missing socks, rivers are turning red, and frogs are dropping from the sky. She believes that the world is ending. But Amenadiel reassures her that if the world was ending, he would feel it; Ella is curious as to what he means.
Rory reveals that she is Chloe and Lucifer’s daughter from the future. Lucifer maintains that Rory has made a mistake, as he would never leave Chloe. Rory, however, reveals that in the future, she’s going through something big and when Lucifer didn’t turn up. As she felt such rage and anger towards Lucifer it made Rory time-travel to the past, aka now, and she’s unable to travel back to her timeline.
Chloe speculates whether Lucifer leaves to become God. But Lucifer thinks that maybe someone kills him with Azrael’s blade, and therefore, erases him from existence. Hence why he’s not in the future. Simple solution; return the blade to heaven. But this would mean Chloe loses the power of super-strength that comes from Amenadiel’s necklace, something she doesn’t want to do.
Rory doesn’t know much about Lucifer’s disappearance, except that it happens on the 4th of August on the Tenth and Swanson. This means that one, Chloe may be pregnant; and two, Lucifer may die in the next three weeks. Rory meets Amenadiel, Maze, and Eve. Although, Amenadiel is worried that as he didn’t sense another angel on Earth, he may be unaware of a few other things. Such as the end of the world, as Ella fears.
Lucifer and Chloe discover that the blade is gone, with only themselves and Rory having access to it. So does Rory kill Lucifer? The three of them visit Linda for a session, but after it doesn’t go well, Lucifer and Chloe go back to his apartment. It turns out that Chloe had the blade. When Lucifer tries to take it to return it to heaven, Chloe won’t let him. Attached to the power that the blade/necklace brings, Chloe fights Lucifer. “Don’t make me hurt you”. After she comes close to killing Lucifer, she eventually gives the blade back to Lucifer.
The ending
Amenadiel apologizes to Ella as he realizes that things may be happening that he hasn’t noticed yet. But having found her sock, Ella laughs him off. Yet, when she’s alone, she opens up a board. Think this show’s version of Smallville‘s Wall of Weird. Ella suspects Lucifer of being the devil and Amenadiel of being an angel. She’s finally guessed it!
Lucifer brings Dan to Chloe and leaves them alone. Dan tells Chloe that she doesn’t need “a silly necklace”; she’s the strongest person he has ever met.
