This article, “where is the gold in the end,” contains spoilers regarding Money Heist season 5, volume 2.
It’s easy to forget the main objective in Money Heist season 5. Amongst the chaos, politics, war, and love, the heist team needs to get the gold out of the Spanish Bank and into the hideout where The Professor resides. When the gold reaches there, they need to turn the grains of gold back into bricks. Sounds complicated, right?
Yet by the time the heist team makes it to volume 2, it feels like the main bulk of the work has been done. They use the pump that Berlin brought from Norway to send the grains of gold upstream via the sewage system to Benjamin and co. The grains of gold are collected and then welded back into bricks. However, in a twist, Tatiana, Rafael, and a group of criminals pretends to be the police and assault the Stormwater tank base. The Professor believes it is the police and surrenders; he doesn’t want a massacre. And then the penny drops; Berlin’s son and ex-wife have stolen the gold.
Money Heist season 5 volume 2 – where is the gold in the end?
The last two episodes see The Professor and his team desperately try and find the gold. Eventually, The Professor has to give up his search as he is needed at the bank, so he tells Sierra (who has joined the gang) to find it for him.
After researching the land registry, Alicia Sierra realizes that Tatiana and Rafael buried the gold under a newly purchased land plot. In the finale, Sierra convinces Rafael to give up the gold and take a share after passing on a note from The Professor reminding him of the family legacy. He’s his uncle, after all.
When the heist is over and The Professor and his team win, the remaining question is, where does the gold end up? Well, The Professor asks Sierra where the gold is as she arranges the transportation for it. She reveals that the gold is in Portugal, in a little treasure house that Tatiana and Rafael built on top of the plot of land. The episode ends, showing a heavy load truck carrying the house across Portugal.
The Professor and his team are sorted for life.
