The beginning of a long-term relationship can be bliss, but it’s always difficult to understand the challenges ahead. Even if you sit down with your partner and discuss wants and needs in the future, there may still be a bump in the road. Episode 10 truly understands the challenges that can arise from a committed relationship.
Forecasting Love and Weather season 1, episode 10 recap
Episode 10 begins with Si-woo ringing Ha-kyung, warning her that her mother is in the apartment. Understandably, the mother is worried that a couple of men live in her daughter’s apartment. You can tell that Si-woo is using this as an opportunity to get to know Ha-kyung’s mother, which is sweet. Meanwhile, Ki-jun returns home feeling bad because Yu-jin bought his mother a good-quality handbag for her birthday, but he initially thought it was for her and that she was spending carelessly. The cracks in this relationship get wider with each episode.
After the twist in the last episode, Ha-kyung feels confused after learning Si-woo does not desire marriage in his life. Si-woo explains that he does not want marriage as he feels like his family is a burden. Although it’s evident this topic impacts Ha-kyung, she’s taking the discussion in her stride. At work, Ha-kyung asks Ki-jun for an honest view of what married life is like, and he describes the challenges he faces. Si-woo also talks to Yu-jin about how she felt when he told her he did not want marriage. Of course, he learns that was the downfall of their relationship.
At the weather station, the team is still dealing with heatwaves and analyzing the data to try and give accurate reports. Suddenly, there is a heat spike warning that has caused panic — the data was showing on the public information portal, but it was an error on the system. Snooping around the weather station, a pesky reporter tries to find a scoop, and the information portal has got his attention.
And then we return to Ha-kyung’s mother — she tells Ha-kyung to get married and have children. Si-woo defends Ha-kyung and tells the mother not to force her daughter into doing something she doesn’t want to do. And then, in a shocking moment, Ha-kyung reveals to her mother that she does not want to get married. You can tell the mother is upset by this.
The ending
As the episode ends, the story shows no signs of slowing down:
The Chief Director is annoyed that they are experiencing bad press again after that pesky reporter reported on the unreliable data displayed on the portal information site. Ki-jun believes Yu-jin is involved in this, but she insists she was not part of it, and she is annoyed that he does not trust her. As the episode ends, Yu-jin packs her things and asks for some time apart.
Ha-kyung is put under pressure by the Chief Director to make some changes; she needs to improve performance within the team. As the episode ends, she asks Si-woo to go to Jeju island for typhoon season. Si-woo is shellshocked, knowing that this is another significant roadblock in their relationship.
Additional notes
- Um Dong-han notices his daughter is at his work on a field trip, so he spends some time with her. His wife is not pleased about this. The daughter wanted to know what her father dedicated his life to for the family.
