Now and Then season 1, episode 4 recap

Flora and her partner have done a night stake, but so far, nothing useful has occurred. Moving back to “Then”, Flora disturbs Sulivan on his day off with her theories on the car crash. She meets Sulivan’s wife, Lisa, who is suffering from cancer. But because of Flora’s obsession with the case, it means that Sulivan is needed to question the taxi driver at the station. The driver says that the youngsters that he drove were very serious and that he’d be able to recognize them.

In “Now”, Ana and Pedro try to celebrate Luis’ birthday. However, Luis is angry over a meme showing Pedro among the trash that has gone viral. Marcos informs Sofia that Daniela’s son Hugo has just tried to call her. There’s a dirty political war, and Pedro has to decide whether to play dirty or not. Ana tells him not to go down to Brady’s level, but Pedro will not let Brady win. Flora learns that the warrant she requested has been denied, so she can’t install listening devices in the homes of the gang. Luis continues to give his father the cold shoulder. But when they return home, Ana is hosting a surprise birthday party for Luis. That is, even though Luis said he didn’t want a party.

Flora speaks with Isabel; she tells Isabel about Alejandro’s death and how there may be a link to Daniela’s murder. Flora tells Isabel that she needs to install listening software and asks that the house remains empty for an hour. In “Then”, the driver identifies one of the friends he drove on the night of the accident. Moving back to “Now”, Isabel tells Flora when the house will be empty, therefore allowing her to wire the house. Ernesto has bought Pedro some time, but he warns that they need the money as soon as possible. Ana realizes that Pedro has robbed Alejandro’s parents. And that’s when Pedro reveals that he has lost the money.

Ana invites Zoe and her parents to Luis’s birthday party, much to the annoyance of Pedro. But Ana has a motive for inviting them; she wants to offer Zoe’s father a job. Marcos’ father asks Sofia what it is that she wants and offers her $100,000 to leave. However, she refuses and tells Marcos what happened. And this is when Marcos learns that his father is planning on selling the clinic. Due to the drama, Marcos leaves early and returns home with Isabel and Sofia. Isabel warns Flora, who has her team rush out.

The ending

With the plan somewhat working, Flora listens to the events within Marcos’ home. In “Then”, Flora reveals to Sullivan that a rich kid who raped a girl, used his power/social circle to frame the rape on her brother. He ended up getting 30 years in prison, and as a result, he killed himself. Therefore, Flora will not let “these rich kids” get away with it.

Marcos meets with Flora; she updates him on the case, that Daniela was being blackmailed for one million dollars. And therefore, Marcos is no longer a suspect in her murder. In “Then”, the driver fails to identify the friends correctly. The medical examiner wants to speak to Sullivan; Jessica didn’t die as a result of the crash. Someone drove the metal shard through her neck. And now, the car crash becomes a murder investigation.

In “Now”, Marcos tells Ana, Pedro, and Sofia that Daniela was being blackmailed. Little does he know that Flora is listening to every word. Hugo rings up Flora; he is drunk driving. He needs someone to talk to, but he crashes before he can tell Flora where he is.
