This article discusses whether there will be a season 2 of the K-Drama series Love in Contract and its renewed or cancelled status. We will also delve into its ratings to look at how it has performed with the Nielsen ratings.

Love in Contract gave some salient messages about being single in the modern world and the desperation that comes with it to live by others’ values. There are many benefits to being single, but sometimes, it can feel lonely when attending events where the likelihood of many couples being there is high. So, this Korean Drama certainly piques many interests, especially in a more isolated and social media-driven world. Here is the official premise of Love in Contract:

Undeniably attractive, talented, and charming, Choi Sang Eun (Park Min Young) is the living definition of the perfect partner. This is exactly why, instead of marrying, she chooses to employ her skills as a contract marriage master. Transforming herself into the perfect partner for each of her clients, Sang Eun allows those who employ her services to live the perfect single life without having to agree to a committed, life-long relationship.

A long-term client, Jung Ji Ho (Go Kyung Pyo) has been using Sang Eun’s services every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, for the past five years. A man shrouded in mystery, Sang Eun knows virtually nothing about Ji Ho but that doesn’t stop her from developing some rather unexpected feelings for him. Making her life even more difficult are the equally unexpected feelings she’s recently developed for one of her newest clients, Kang Hae Jin (Kim Jae Young). A popular actor who employs her services on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, Hae Jin often makes Sang Eun’s heart flutter.

Torn between her professional obligations and the feelings she harbors for both Ji Ho and Hae Jin, Sang Eun finds herself in an unexpected predicament. How can she possibly maintain her professionalism when her heart is leading her in two different directions?

Will there be a season 2 of the K-Drama Love in Contract – renewed or cancelled status

So far, there has been no news on whether there will be a season 2 of the K-Drama series Love in Contract, so the renewed and cancelled status is TBC.

This is not unusual in the K-Drama industry. TV shows tend to be a one-off, apart from the super popular fare (Squid Game, Hospital Playlist, Love Alarm) that made a lot of sense to renew. The K-Drama industry is well and truly reliant on Nielsen ratings rather than critical ratings, so it will be interesting in whether Love in Contract gets that golden renewal. However, we wouldn’t give too much confidence in whether this series is renewed. Most are not given second-season consideration.

So, for now, we predict that there will not be season 2 of Love in Contract.

How well did the K-Drama Love in Contract do in Nielsen Ratings?

In terms of ratings, Love in Contract has not sustained its Nielsen Ratings as much as it would have liked. Episode 9 saw a dip in ratings, with an average nationwide rating of 2.697%. And at the time of writing this article, Love in Contract rose to 2.926%, and it’s been hovering around similar numbers for weeks. In comparison to the nationwide rating of 3.992% on its premiere, it seems this K-Drama has not been hitting the heights we expected.

Based on the ratings, we’d predict that Love in Contract will not be renewed for season 2.
