But here we are, almost two years later, and the first thing we will be wondering is – do Billie (Sarah Shahi) and Cooper (Mike Vogel) break up and start a divorce? Does Brad have a new woman?
Season 2 Episode 1 opens with Billie narrating a life lesson, telling the audience that one of the most important decisions you can make is who you spend the rest of your life with.
Episode 1 picks up where we left off in Season 1, with Billie trying to have sex with Brad. But Brad does not want sex; he wants more than physical intimacy. He wants commitment, and he’s started life with another woman — he’s going to have a family with this new woman. Billie is understandably embarrassed, but Brad tells Billie to get what she needs.
Billie moves to New York and meets a man called Majid
And so, in the next scene, Billie has an apartment in New York; she’s going through a divorce and has a co-parenting arrangement with Cooper. Sasha wants to get Billie into the dating gaming again, so they go out drinking together. Billie does not take long to talk to a man who wants to buy her a drink.
The man is called Majid. Billie tells Majid she is a “mess” in her life and reveals she is in the middle of a bitter divorce. Majid enjoys the truth, and he continues to talk to Billie. She gets his number.
Do Billie and Cooper break up or stay together?
Season 2 Episode 1 shows a flashback; Billie returns home to Cooper and tells him that she is not happy with their marriage. However, Cooper already knew; he had a tracker on her phone. Their discussion erupts into a heated argument. Cooper does not want to fix their marriage and walks out. It’s official — Billie and Cooper have broken up.
In the present, Cooper is having trouble with his son. His son misses being a family together. Cooper has hired a nanny called Olga.
Do Francesca and Cooper get together?
At work, Cooper has established a romantic relationship with Francesca; they are together. It’s no surprise; Francesca has wanted Cooper for a while. They have been hooking up for six months. They cannot get enough of each other.
In the work elevator, they quickly have sex before they reach their floor. Dev catches them, and afterward, he tells Cooper he is happy for him for finally getting laid. Cooper reminds Dev that Francesca is his boss, so he cannot say anything.
After work, Cooper’s brother Spencer rings him, tells Cooper to sort his life out, and reminds him he has children with Billie. However, Cooper feels resentful for being the “nice guy” in the past. He doesn’t want to be that guy anymore.
Who is Kam?
An ex from the past returns to Sasha’s life — he’s called Kam. He turns up at the studio Sasha works at. Sasha is in shock to see him again. It’s been 17 years since they last saw each other. Kam asks her out for dinner, realizing she is single.
Billie and Sasha go on dates with Majid and Kam
Billie meets Majid for a date. She puts on her best dress. Billie soon learns that Majid owns the bar they are dining in. Majid explains to Billie his dreams and aspirations. He details his story — from poverty to wealth. He describes how he had an “itch” for a better life. Billie relates but believes that “itch” gets people into trouble, but Majid disagrees.
Billie is grateful for a fantastic evening with Majid, which nearly leads to a kiss. Billie withdraws from the kiss and explains to Mijad that she wants to take it slow. Mijad is calm and understanding.
Meanwhile, Sasha meets Kam for their date. Kam admits he did not run into Sasha “by chance.” He wanted to see her, even if it was “just friends.” Kam has managed to gain access to an empty museum due to his affiliations with the NGO he works for.

Were Kam and Sasha engaged in the past?
In a flashback, Kam proposes to Sasha, and she says, “yes.” In the present, Kam reminds Sasha that he proposed to her at this museum, but Sasha is stricken with memories of the past and runs to the bathroom.
In another flashback, Sasha’s grandmother believes Sasha is giving up her life over a man by accepting the proposal. The grandmother reminds Sasha of the grad programme she applied for at Columbia. The grandmother gives Sasha a letter from Colombia; she was accepted into the programme, but Sasha tells her grandmother that it changes nothing.
In the present, Sasha tells Kam that she will not drop everything in her life for him again. She does not want to “lose herself.” In another flashback, Sasha ghosted Kam and did not go to the airport to start her new life with him.

How do Brad and Majid know each other?
Billie tells Sasha that Majid is “awesome,” but she chickened out on their first kiss. She doesn’t believe she has the right to be happy. Meanwhile, Cooper and Francesca are caught hooking up, and this time, it is not Dev — they are in trouble.
As episode 1 of season 2 ends, Billie returns to the bar, finds Majid, and kisses him. But then Brad turns up. Brad is one of Majid’s business investors. Majid realizes that Brad is Billie’s old flame. And to make matters worse, Brad’s pregnant partner, Gigi, turns up to conclude an explosive start to Season 2.
