After a solid debut, Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro returned this Winter of 2023 with even more crazy antics and romantic encounters. Now it seems the relationship between Senpai and Nagatoro (voiced by Sumire Uesaka) has never been stronger, while the show has never been funnier, making it one of the best romantic comedies out right now.
The series follows an unnamed male dubbed “Senpai,” who spends his days being teased by Nagatoro and her friends. What starts as a rocky relationship eventually shifts to one of mutual respect and concern–but that doesn’t mean Nagatoro ever downright stops messing with him. If anything, she’s the only one truly allowed to tease Senpai. While the first season revolved around getting to know the characters and changing their views on one another, season two has built upon those connections and given Senpai a chance to use his budding confidence to help Nagatoro for once. It seems his shift in attitude has paid off in ways he never imagined, with the romantic side of their relationship also developing as a result.
With a MyAnimeList score of 7.46, this season ranks higher than the first, proving this series only improves with time. I can personally say I’ve found this season to be more entertaining, especially now that the relationship between Senpai and Nagatoro has evolved beyond just senseless teasing. It’s a definite must-watch for fans of the romantic comedy genre who like a well-written slow burn.
Will there be a Season 3 of Don’t Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro – renewed or canceled status
While a third season of Dont Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro has not been announced yet, that does not mean it won’t be. Some animes will go years between seasons, while others stick to more strict schedules.
Several factors often influence whether or not a series gets a new season, including everything from popularity to DVD sales. With anime, the announcements for seasons are also often sporadic, considering there are no protocols for when or how to announce new seasons. Season three of the series could be announced as soon as it ends or months before fans hear any news.
In the past, the first season of the Dont Toy with Me Miss Nagatoro premiered in Spring 2021, while the second season wasn’t announced until October of that same year and didn’t premiere until January 2023. If we use that as the standard, fans shouldn’t expect to hear the status of season three until later this year at best. Even still, depending on whether or not production has already started, we probably won’t see more Nagatoro and Senpai until 2024. However, as long as there’s a new season to look forward to, most fans will accept the waiting period.
