Fatal Attraction Season 1 Episode 5 Recap

The episode begins with seeing what transpired between Alex and Beth’s mother, Sophie. Beth’s dog almost got out, and Alex just so happened to be at the gate before it got out. Of course, Alex lies about what went down to get her to invite her into the house. Sophie invites Alex into the home for coffee. As she talked up Beth to Alex, she started to get frustrated.

What did Alex do to Sophie?

Sophie mentions that Beth and Dan always forget to put the cover over the pool. She suggests that they both go outside and do it together. Upon attempting to do it, a float is stuck in the pool, and Sophie tries to get it but falls into the water. She begs Alex for help, but instead, she closes the cover on the pool, causing her to be stuck underwater.

Dan sits down to talk to Beth to let her know about his cheating on her with Alex. He apologizes for doing it, and she wonders why he must tell her tonight. We hear him explain how Alex isn’t taking it well and believes she might have something to do with her mother’s death. She tells him that this is it for them and walks away.

He followed by going to Mike to figure out his next move with Alex.

At the office, Dan forgot his keys to the car and went back upstairs to get them, only to realize that Alex had taken them. She apologizes to him and says don’t worry, I understand. And after she gets in her car, we see a pregnancy test in the passenger seat.

Dan’s boss called and said he wanted to meet with him in the morning. She informs him that she got a handwritten letter from someone who accused him of many things. She told him to take time off until they clear the air.

Dan heads to pick up some papers for his new boss and meets with Gabriel, the man who had a complaint against Alex. He asks him what happened and if he would help, but he tells him he won’t do that.

After this, he goes to lunch with someone from the courthouse to discuss Alex. He mentions she had a thing with Gabriel and remembers seeing her with a blonde-haired guy.

Present day, Dan and Ellen sit down and have a drink together. The conversation gets tricky when Ellen asks her father about Alex and what made him do it. As a psychology major, he asks her why she thinks he did it. We hear her break down his life in a way that floors him.

The investigator cleared Dan from wrongdoing because Alex went to bat for him. At dinner, Mike freaks out on him because he is out ruining his career over something stupid.

A new friend that Ellen made in school talks to her about her dad and her past: the two are getting along and are rather smitten with each other. We see her go to a professor about her essay, but before she leaves, she tells him that he has been seen and not to ruin his life.

What is Dan’s reaction to Ellen going missing?

After a fire breaks out on a job site, Beth ends up in the hospital. Dan mentions that the neighbors will be taking care of Ellen. However, they get a phone call stating she isn’t at the house. Of course, this leads to Dan and Beth freaking out, and we see Mike find her wandering down the street.

Dan thinks Alex has something to do with it, so he visits her. Dan throws her down, puts his hands around her throat, and as she gasps, he says he plans to go to the FBI to take her down. Before leaving, he says, “If you want to die, you better hurry up, and you’ll have to do it yourself.
