Episode 18 is set, after yet another time jump, on the 31st of May 2024. The Death Day is less than 48 hours away, and the passengers are racing to solve as many Callings as humanly possible before their timer runs out. Eagan (Ali Lopez-Sohaili) makes a surprising proposal, while Ben (Josh Dallas) and Saanvi (Parveen Kaur) take their friendship to the next level.

Manifest Season 4 Episode 18 Recap

She’s been mentioned a few times in the last few episodes, but we’ve yet to see our dear frenemy, Dr. Gupta. “Lift/Drag” starts with her at the secret lab panicking about the seismic activity announcing the end of the world.

It seems Saanvi spent the past few months forced to work for Dr. Gupta.

Michaela finally forgives herself

Cal’s been working hard at the D.C. receiving people’s Callings and sending them on missions to solve them. One such Calling is Mick’s, and it’s of a sign that reads “Every Life is Worth Living,” referring to Zeke’s previous place of work. She chooses to solve it alone.

At Zeke’s former workspace, Mick gets a flashback of him before she’s recognized by one of the nurses, who calls security to remove her from the premises. But Carlos, the boy who got Evie’s heart after she died, intervenes.

It turns out Carlos used to be Zeke’s intern, and he talks Michaela into finally forgiving herself for what happened to Evie all those years ago.

Ben and Saanvi reunite

When it’s Ben’s turn, his Calling leads to a building in New York, and he asks Vance for help. They head towards an abandoned building, which turns out to be Dr. Gupta’s secret lab.

As Vance, Ben, and Cal arrive at the secret facility, Saanvi uses electrical wiring to take out the cameras and unlock the electric doors. As they’re about to escape, the place gets surrounded by guards.

Troy allows himself to be captured so Saanvi can make a run for it and, hopefully, save the world.

Are the Callings gone for good?

Cal goes back on the plane but fails to see anyone’s Callings. As Ben’s delivering another one of his inspirational speeches, a distressed Cal gives everyone the news about the Callings being over. And no, the news doesn’t stop Ben from still giving an inspirational speech.

The passengers start getting ready for the end of the world, and most choose to leave D.C. and spend time with their families.

Why does Eagan propose to Angelina?

Just when we thought Angelina’s cult couldn’t get any weirder, Eagan proposes to her during one of their meetings. There are nine followers, and, according to the chosen one, only eight of them can survive the incoming apocalypse.

As Autumn spent the episode trying to convince Angelina of Eagan’s unworthiness, he needed to do something drastic to ensure his place among the chosen eight.

While the passengers at the D.C. are sharing tearful farewells, Angelina and Eagan are joined in holy matrimony. Funnily enough, their wedding is officiated by Paul Santino, the amnesic passenger we met in season 1 whose wife refused to see because he was abusive.

Is Astrid still alive?

Jared and Drea find Astrid unconscious, apparently after an overdose. It seems she’s survived for the past few weeks taking the rat poison-tainted anxiety pills, but it seems her body finally hit her limit.

At the D.C, Saanvi quickly uncovers the poison hidden in Astrid’s anxiety pills. And thankfully, the young woman survives Angelina’s murder attempt.

Saanvi also figures out something that may wake up the catatonic patients, but her plan fails.

Manifest Season 4 Episode 18 Ending Explained

Ben finds a distraught Saanvi, and… well, let’s say they find comfort in each other. This is a lot more than we can say about the culty newlyweds, who are not to consummate their marriage.

Our Angelina is too focused on leading her small but loyal flock through the end times. However, she promises her new husband they’ll start working on repopulating the planet as soon as they get through the apocalypse. How romantic!

Who knocks on Angelina’s door?

As Eagan is trying to ask his new wife about Astrid’s fate, there’s a knock on the door. It’s none other than Adrian, the former fake 828 prophet. Where has he been all this time?

The episode ends with Marko waking up from his comatose state. It seems Saanvi was too quick to admit defeat.
