Summary
A more relaxed episode that focuses on preparing the storyline for the next season while wrapping up a few loose ends.
One minute, Senku and his friends are celebrating their victory against Ibara, and the next, they’re thrust into yet another adventure as the Why-man makes his sudden return. With only two episodes left in Dr. Stone Season 3, it would be impossible to find the mysterious villain now, especially when they’ve discovered he’s on the moon. Although they don’t have the resources to get there yet, fans know that anything is possible with the power of science. It was nice to see no one was in danger of being petrified in Episode 21. For so long, viewers had to remain on their toes just in case something terrible happened, but Dr. Stone always does a good job of balancing the negative with the positive.
Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 21 Recap
The episode opens with the Perseus crew questioning whether or not they can make it to the moon. Senku announces that they’ll need materials from all over the world, making that their next project.
What happened to the other petrification devices?
According to Matsukaze, he was ordered to destroy all of the other petrification devices that rained down from the sky. The only one left, the current Medusa, was stolen by bandits at the time.
Senku realizes they will not be able to accumulate and build all the resources needed for space travel on their own. He decides he wants to make allies with the people of Treasure Island, but it has to be their choice. Soyuz says he will take the lead in trying to unite them and leads the islanders in building a communication tower.
Soyuz announces that he plans to stay on Treasure Island to help the people progress with science and revive the remaining statues dropped in the Ocean. He then asks Kirisame to travel with Senku’s team and aid them on their mission as a brave warrior. Matsukaze agrees to accompany them as well.
Senku puts on a fireworks show for the people of Treasure Island as a show of good faith. Gen explains to Soyuz what they mean and how important it is that Senku waited to introduce fireworks here, as they start their alliance when he could’ve made them at any time.
How does Dr. Stone Season 3 Episode 21 end?
The Perseus crew sets sail again, and Senku says their next step is to find more allies and gather more assets. They discuss who may travel to the moon when the time comes.
The crew sails back to Ishigami Village and announces they can now heal people with the use of the petrification device. Senku says they can finally revive Tsukasa after all this time.
As the season approaches the end, I appreciate how they’re wrapping up this storyline while sowing the seeds for the next. No detail ever feels too small on this show, and seeing things come full circle back to Tsukasa also felt like a really nice touch for the end of this season.
With only one episode left, I’m curious to see how they’ll wrap everything up, but I’m not expecting much action or drama.
