Somewhat unusually for Apple TV+, the highlights of its April 2024 output are second seasons — both Loot and The Big Door Prize return for Season 2 and are stealing most of the headlines. However, there are still plenty of new shows and movies coming to the service, as well as several continuing from March, so our handy streaming guide should help you pick out the best offerings for you.

This article will be updated throughout the month to reflect the latest news, so bookmark it if you’re interested.

Highlight of the Month

Franklin (Season 1) | April 12

Michael Douglas stars as Benjamin Franklin in this limited series based on Stacy Schiff’s 2005 book A Great Improvisation: Franklin, France, and the Birth of America. Franklin embarks on a secret mission to France in December 1776 with American independence hanging in the balance.

Sugar (Season 1) | April 5

Colin Farrell stars in this noir detective series that is sure to be an attention-grabber. Farrell plays private detective John Sugar, who is investigating the disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. Naturally, he turns up many family secrets that might have been safer staying buried.
