Highlight of the Month

Star Trek: Discovery (Season 5) | April 4

Love it or hate it, Discovery is still going strong after four prior seasons, and it’s hoping to build to a big, meaningful conclusion in Season 5, which will be its last.

In the final season Captain Burnham and the crew of the USS Discovery on a galaxy-spanning mystery to unearth an ancient power, deliberately hidden for centuries. It’s a suitably epic-feeling premise for this concluding chapter, and it’ll debut with two episodes for good measure.

Sleeper Hits of the Month

Knuckles (Season 1) | April 26

You’d be a fool to write off the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise these days, especially if you’ve been around to see the unexpected success of the live-action movies and Netflix’s beloved animated series Sonic Prime.

Knuckles, which is set between the second feature film and the upcoming third, finds the titular echidna (voiced by Idris Elba) going on a journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his warrior protege.

CTRL+ALT+DESIRE | April 16

The latest in true crime is always on the cusp of becoming the next cultural sensation, and CTRL+ALT+DESIRE certainly fits the bill. The directorial debut of veteran docu D.P. Colin Archdeacon, CTRL+ALT+DESIRE was filmed over four years and tells the terribly true story of a man who become obsessed with an online cam girl, reinvented his digital persona, and ended up murdering his mother, father, and brother.

It’s a topical tale of digital addition and extreme loneliness that is worth keeping an eye on.
