We’re currently a week away from the last ever episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, and the question on everyone’s lips is whether Episode 10 of Season 12, fittingly titled “No Lessons Learned”, will find Larry David in prison for the crime off handing someone a water bottle.
Currently, the likeliest answer is “yes”. The reasons are a little more complicated.
Redoing the Seinfeld Finale
As we’ve discussed previously, and as several episodes in Season 12 have alluded to, it seems very much like the Curb finale is going to be a redo of the Seinfeld finale, which Larry David wrote and which nobody liked.
That finale ended up with several of the cast in prison, and for this reason it’s likely that the series finale of Curb will also find Larry in prison. All the clues have been there, including several overt references to Seinfeld, and Larry is obviously on the cusp of a criminal trial for handing Auntie Rae a water bottle way back in the season premiere. With the final episode titled “No Lessons Learned”, it’s extremely likely that Larry simply being Larry will land him in prison.
Richard Lewis Will Be Back One Last Time
Larry will once again get involved in Richard’s love life in the season finale. In Episode 8, “The Colostomy Bag”, Larry managed to scare off Richard’s latest date (played by his real-life wife) by leaving cheese in the back of his new Mercedes, so in all likelihood Larry’s interference will not bode well.
Following the tragic and untimely passing of Richard Lewis, this finale will be additionally significant as it’s the final time we’ll see him on-screen.
Cheryl Has A Secret?
The official synopsis of “No Lessons Learned” is, according to IMDb:
Larry returns to Atlanta, where he gets involved in Richard’s love life and reveals a secret about Cheryl.
What’s the secret? I guess we’ll find out in due course, but feel free to jump into the comments if you have any theories. Either way, I think it’s safe to assume that Cheryl won’t be thrilled about it being made public.
