Suspicion season 1, episode 4 recap

Following his arrest in the previous episode, Eddie waits to get questioned. Katherine makes an appearance and quizzes his friends in a bid to find Leo. And Tara, along with some of her students, including Heather, stick TTT (Tell The Truth) stickers around campus.

During questioning, Eddie says that he has nothing to hide. He also doesn’t appear fazed by the situation. That is, anyways, until his parents receive a mention. Despite Scott’s advice, Vanessa decides to release Eddie. Instead, she will keep him under surveillance, much like the other suspects. After Eddie sees his pixelated face in the newspaper, he tracks down Aadesh. He finds Aadesh asleep in his car. Eddie reveals to Aadesh that he is on his last warning with his Dad, and so he wants to get all of the suspects together so they can tell their side of the story.

With the possibility that her embezzlement charges will get dropped, Natalie moves forward with a meeting with Sean. Once prepped with a hidden earpiece, Natalie goes to meet Sean. But he messages at the last moment with a different location. As a result, Natalie no longer has the safety of the force and could be a sitting target.

At the new location, Natalie sits in the car with Vanessa, who hides in the back seat. There’s a long wait before anyone arrives. And when they do, it’s someone in a helmet. Is it even Sean? Regardless, Natalie hands the money to the individual. And they shoot her! The chase is on, but the individual, who is Sean, manages to escape from the police. As for Natalie, she’s ok as she was wearing a vest. With the suspect (Sean) not in custody, Katherines decides to release a statement as Scott questions Vanessa’s methods.

Sean meets up with someone who seemingly has everything needed for Sean to start a new life. However, when they try to stab Sean, he brutally murders them. Sean takes the phone and claims “job done”. As the media prepare to report on Katherine’s impending speech, Katherine decides that whilst she will write it, she will not be the one reading it. Using one of her workers, Barbra, Katherine discloses some of the sources of the fundraising used to secure her job. She reveals that it came from the sale of a London property that had connections to a country under economic sanctions from the US Treasury Department. And so, Katherine withdraws her name from the ambassador position.

The ending

It’s not enough for the kidnappers, “still not the truth” they claim. Eddie and Aadesh find Tara, but she slams the door in their faces. As Natalie and Monique return home, a black van follows them. Scott has gone over Vanessa’s head and taken his concerns to her boss, which means the suspects are no longer under surveillance. Eddie, Aadesh, and Tara are together when they are ambushed and dragged inside of the black van, with Natalie and Monique also inside.

The van takes them to an airfield, and the men threaten to kill them all if Leo’s location isn’t revealed. Sean arrives and starts to shoot the men, as does Tara. Tragically, Monique gets killed in the process. Natalie grabs Monique’s bracelet, before she, Eddie, Aadesh, and Tara flee with Sean.
