Summary
As is usually the case with The Flight Attendant, the latest episode proves to be a cracker. However, what sticks out with episode five is the emotional scene it ends with. With Cassie’s sobriety not being a heavily serious issue throughout the show, this episode changed that and included a powerful scene between Cassie and Brenda.

The Flight Attendant season 2, episode 5 recap
After Cassie wakes up after having sex with Benjamin, she sneaks through the notes that he has on her. As she sneaks out of the CIA office, she bumps into Dot. Slightly alarmed by Cassie’s behavior, Dot suggests that she goes to see a counselor. Then after Cassie bumps into Shane, he reminds her that they have Flight Attendant training that very day, which isn’t good for Cassie, clearly, as she has other things on her mind.
After avoiding Marco over and over again, he comes to see Cassie. They argue, and Cassie yells out that she has slept with someone else in the heat of the moment. Her excuse is that she “forgot about him”. With that excuse unacceptable, Marco dumps her. As Shane speculates whether it’s an inside job, Brenda calls Cassie and says that Megan has gone to see a friend at a club. The reason Megan has gone is that she wants to find the lockbox. Having left it with a club owner, Teri, she hopes to retrieve it. However, a drug addict stole it from Teri, which now leaves Megan in a little bit of a pickle.
The ending
As Cassie reluctantly takes part in training, she eventually loses it with Carole and yells at her to “f**k off”. Meanwhile, Benjamin asks the man with the glass eye to hide Cassie’s file. Afterward, Cassie rants to Grace, who loves hearing other people’s problems, and tells Cassie that anytime she wants to talk, she will listen. But there’s trouble ahead, as when Grace offers her a drink, Cassie accepts it. Megan and Teri go to the drug addict, Wanda, and ask for the lockbox. But knowing that Wanda will be trouble for them, Megan spikes her drink.
Whilst in a 24/7, Cassie spots Jenny, who is also about to buy a drink. Even though she convinces Jenny not to drink, she can’t convince herself. After leaving several voicemails to Dot, Cassie calls Shane. However, Shane doesn’t answer. His boyfriend, Justin, does. She reveals to Justin that Shane works for the CIA in her drunken state. Oops. As for Annie and Max, they track down the “Killer Couple” and steal back the ring that is rightfully theirs.
As Megan successfully retrieves the lockbox, Cassie continues to get trashed. Later, as Cassie decides that she needs help, she calls Brenda. Cassie admits that she hasn’t been a year sober, to which Brenda responds that she needs to be honest.
