Who Voices Phee Genoa in Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2? We discuss the newcomer in the Star Wars series, which will contain spoilers.

After some confusion over when season 2 of The Bad Batch will come out, the show has finally returned on Disney+. Season 1 introduced audiences to the Star Wars galaxy in the immediate aftermath of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, where the Empire are establishing control over the galaxy. It was a fun ride, that continued the legacy of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, and Star Wars: Rebels, but it also introduced new characters like Omega, Cid, and Vice Admiral Rampart.

Season two continues to introduce more characters, like Cid’s buddy Phee Genoa. She has only appeared very briefly so far but is sure to make a reappearance in the future and make an impact on the Bad Batch. But who voices her? This is what we’ll look at in this article.

Who voices Phee Genoa in The Bad Batch Season 2?

Phee Genoa is a new character introduced in season two of The Bad Batch and is voiced by Wanda Sykes. Sykes is a stand-up comedian, actress, writer, and voice actor from North America. In 2004, Entertainment Weekly named her as one of the 25 funniest people in America.

Sykes has appeared in several projects, such as ABC’s Black-ish, and HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm. She’s also had a strong career as a voice actress, voicing characters in the Ice Age franchise, Over the Hedge, and Ugly Dolls.

She currently stars in the Netflix show The Upshaws.

Who is Phee Genoa?

Phee Genoa is a previously unknown character in the Star Wars world but has ties to the criminal underworld which has been hugely fleshed out. Cid tells Echo that she is a pirate, and a friend. Phee shoots off before she lets slip too much about her, but from what Cid has said it’s possible to know more.

Genoa’s role as a pirate ties the Bad Batch to their mercenary lifestyle because it’s another person the group will be able to work for. She has a lot of intelligence on where to find jobs for them, as she knows about the war chest on Serenno. It’s she will likely be a recurring character and give missions out each week.

At this point, it isn’t clear if she is tied to any already established criminal groups in the Star Wars universe, such as Crimson Dawn, the Cloud-Riders, the Pykes, or is just a free agent like Cid.

What happened with Phee Genoa in The Bad Batch season 2 Episodes 1 and 2?

In the first episode of season two of The Bad Batch, Phee meets the group in the backroom of Cid’s bar and is waiting for the Bad Batch after the opening heist. She reveals that Cid has told her all about the Bad Batch and that Cid has even complimented them by saying they are Cid’s “top team.”

Echo is spooked that Cid would just tell a seemingly new person all about them, but Cid tries to reassure him that she’s a pirate and a friend. Phee then goes to inspect the clones, saying that quality control on Kamino must be poor because clones are all supposed to look the same, but the Bad Batch are mutated, and all look different.

During her rundown, she seemingly hits on Tech, commenting on the color of his eyes. Tech, in his usual oblivious fashion, simply states they weren’t a result of their mutations and that all clones have brown eyes. Phee then states she has to leave, taking the box that the Bad Batch stole from the beach planet. She tells Cid she wants a cut of the group’s next job on Serenno, as she provided the intel.

After this, she isn’t seen in the rest of episode one or any episode two, but when she does reappear, it’s unlikely that she will be happy with the results of the failed heist. Especially as that means she doesn’t get paid for her intel.
