While Devi is on the chase for Princeton in the final season of Never Have I Ever, her pursuit of finding a man is also ramping up. Throughout the first three seasons, we have seen her in serious relationships (Paxton), boys she’s kissed (Alejandro), and guys she ended up losing her virginity to (Ben).
In season 4, an old face with a growth spurt enters the pictures to wreak havoc on Devi and Sherman Oak High School.
Who is Ethan in Never Have I Ever Season 4?
“The Hot Pockets” entered the senior year with a new set of guys leading the way. In were the “burnouts” and the “bad boys,” and out were the “harmless jocks.” Leading the way was Ethan, a kid that wasn’t new to the school, but his growth spurt over the summer turned him from a nobody in the school to a hottie that everybody couldn’t keep their eyes off.

It’s very like that Devi dated Ethan as a rebound after her experience with Ben.
Let’s explain: at the end of season 3, Devi heads over to Ben’s house to give him the “one free boink” coupon and season 4 picks up with the two in bed after having sex. Things got awkward between the two leading to Ben saying that he had to hit the hay.
Later, in response to Devi’s text, Ben said he was busy and told Devi to have a good summer. Of course, this upsets Devi, and when the senior year starts, she is hunting for a new man to make her forget Ben even existed.
Did Devi and Ethan break up?
The relationship between Devi and Ethan was fun but short-lived. They did eventually break up after a significant event.
Once Ethan had entered the picture, Devi steered away from him at first because her best friend Eleanor had eyes for him. However, after realizing she still had feelings for Trent, Eleanor gave Devi the go-ahead to chase after him.
Things start hot and heavy between the two, and while those around her mentioned that Ethan might not be boyfriend material, she had her mind set on proving the world wrong. On college day, when Devi made a fool out of herself in front of the Princeton rep, Akshara, Ethan thought he needed to get back at Akshara to help Devi, so he stole her wallet.
After returning the wallet to Akshara and conversing with her, Devi realized everyone was right about Ethan and knew what she had to do. Devi tells Ethan he is a “bad person,” so she can’t be with him anymore.
